Charming, quaint cottage. Ideal for our short stay
We enjoyed 3 nights in the Coach House and it was a charming and most enjoyable stay. The cottage is small but affords most of the necessary facilities any guest would expect. It is delightfully decorated inside and offers fascinating pieces to amuse and distract the weary traveller. It offers an ideal location beside the Cathedral with access to Ely town centre but a step away. Roger and Jennifer were gracious hosts and looked after our needs very well.

Not welcome to stay
Stayed with some friends in a delightful cottage. Jenny & Robin were lovely attentive hosts and the property beautiful, clean and wonderful. We had paid for 3 nights from the friday night until the monday morning, although we were going to leave early Sunday evening to get back home. We felt as if we were being pushed out, we went out at 11am Jenny wanted to know what time we were leaving.. we weren’t sure. We came back at 12, popped out at 12.30... again wanted to know when we were going... then came back to find a cleaner cleaning the property. They said it was ok because we were packed to go.. which we weren’t. Very unhappy that our things were in the property and if we had wanted to stay till the monday we could have done so. We then went out again to be told on our return that only 2 of the rooms had been cleaned. The towels and hand towels had been taken away. I actually wanted a shower before my trip home & i felt as if i was pushed out. We left earlier than planned we felt as if they were trying to get rid of us... felt as if they had more guests coming that sunday night perhaps and needed the place clear. Never experienced anything quite like it before!

Interesting Property
We stayed at the Coach House for a long weekend as our Annual ‘Getaway)
Robin & Anne were very welcoming.
The cottage was cosy as we had very wet weather during our stay.
Only negative we thought it could have benefited from another comfy chair or sofa in the sitting room, maybe move the table into the other small adjoining room.
Bedrooms were well decorated and comfortable.
Strangely no windows. One has a skylight.
I believe this is because it is listed and was formally a stable / barn.
All in all we had a pleasant stay and a good time in the area.
Recommend a climb up the tower of the Cathedral & the Escape Room at Cromwell’s House.

Beautifully presented period property in a perfect location
We were welcomed by Jenny and shown around the property. The tea, coffee, milk and a box of biscuits provided for us were very welcome after a long journey. The property is in an ideal location, secluded but close to the town centre and all amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. The property is very comfortable and warm, decorated in keeping with a period property, and contains lots of interesting objects and books. Jenny and Robin made us feel very welcome. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and offered advice on places to visit and provided us with maps. We would recommend booking the Cathedral Tower Tour and visiting the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely book the Coach House if we return to Ely again.

Lovely base to explore Ely and the surrounding area
We found the Coach House really comfortable - a great place for an autumn break and a good centre for exploring the area - and the owners, Robin and Jenny, were very welcoming and helpful. We explored Ely and particularly liked the Cathedral and the Stained Glass Museum. We enjoyed food in the Royal Standard and Peacocks down by the river (but weren't impressed by the Almonry or the Old Fire Engine House). And we visited Cambridge and Norwich by public transport and Anglesey Abbey, Wicken Fen, Oxborough, Ickworth House and Bury St Edmunds by car. A great week!

Lovely place to stay
Stayed here as a family of five adults for five nights. A quaint and characterful property that had everything we needed. Three comfortable en suite bedrooms. Parking available. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Perfectly placed for walking around Ely and the short drive into Cambridge. Would very much recommend and we will certainly return.

Excellent location and absolutely charming.
Ely is a beautiful small city. The Coach House is very close to the centre but also extremely quiet. Robin and Jenny are delightful hosts- thank you again for your hospitality.

Very hospitable and interesting hosts providing very comfortable accomodation in a very interesting home
I spent two nights - booked at quite short notice - was warmly welcomed - simple, wholesome breakfast - met interesting people - extremely well placed in the centre of Ely and with parking.
As a South African I appreciated the warmth provided by the central heating - very necessary given the inclement weather that prevails in an English summer.

the grown garden invited to stay for reading or quiet conversation.
We spent a marvelous week at this beautiful country style house.
Location is unsurpassable in the very center of Ely, close to the Cathedral, Cromwell's house, High Street, etc., and with very convenient parking, but still very quiet.
We enjoyed the horse & country house themed decoration and the endless book collection.
Stairs were not a problem for our 85 grandmother and beds were very cozy and comfortable.
The shower, as mentioned in the site web page, does not have too much pressure but this was a minor issue for us.
In the exterior, the grown garden invited to stay for reading or quiet conversation.
Jenny and Robin were the perfect hosts: nice, discreet and always available.
All in all a charming memory for us and the hope to be able to return some day.

Quintessential English charm throughout
The Coach House is perfect for a stay in Cambridgeshire. Ely is a wonderful small city, teeming with activity and has the most magnificent cathedral and it is an easy drive to Cambridge and many other interesting sites. Our hosts were wonderful - helpful in every way, very warm and welcoming. There is a lovely side garden for the guests to enjoy - which we did!
The house, while not large, was perfect for 4 of us and a other guest for a couple of nights.
I wish I could have stayed longer. Jenny and Robyn made it a wonderful visit!

Ely is an ideal base to tour East Anglia. There is something for everyone - places of interest include Cambridge, Bury St. Edmunds, Newmarket, Thetford Forest, Wicken Fen, Welney 'Wetlands Trust', Duxford Air Museum and much more besides.
