Perfect location
Our family of 5 stayed in this beautiful house last week, it was perfect! We’d not been to Cornwall before and were unsure which area to stay in. St Ives was by far the best area we visited and this house is in the perfect location! You have 3 different beaches within a minute stroll (or less) of the front door plus shops, restaurants and galleries about 2 - 3 minutes walk. There is a lovely cafe opposite (they do the best cream tea’s) and there are plenty of things to do in the area. I would totally recommend a boat trip to seal island on Dolly P!! The house is nice and clean and had everything we needed, the host is helpful and responds quickly to any questions. The beds and linen were very comfortable. It does get quite noisy early in the morning and the seagulls are very loud but we had nice weather so the windows were wide open, I just wore earplugs! There isn’t any parking but I booked a just park space that was about a 10 minute walk away for £52 for 7 days, you probably won’t get in any of the car parks at height of season. The only other thing that’s worth mentioning is that the stairs down to the kitchen are very steep so elderly and young children would need to take care. All in all we had a wonderful week here and I would definitely return.

A Christmas Special!
3 of us spent 4 nights over Christmas in this fabulous cottage. It's very spacious, extremely well equipped, charmingly furnished and just a complete delight. It's very warm and cosy with an extremely efficient central heating system, if your stay is a winter one. It's very centrally located and only a few minutes from the harbour, the town centre and Porthmeor Beach. The long stay car park is very close by but it's great to be able to load and unload very easily right outside the cottage. The fully lit and decorated Christmas tree was completely unexpected but a very special touch indeed, not forgetting the complimentary bottle of wine! I can't recommend this cottage highly enough.

A wonderful cottage in a fabulous location
Oh my word! We were incredibly lucky to find this cottage available for the week that we wanted and what a true delight it turned out to be. Location - right in the heart of St Ives just a 2 minute walk to the harbour and the beautiful Porthmeor Beach. Just around the corner is Norway Stores, a convenience store where you can buy your essentials but the major supermarkets will also deliver to your door. The cottage itself is spread over 3 floors and is beautifully furnished. There are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor, a lounge and an area that we used as a boot room on the middle floor and a large kitchen diner on the bottom floor. The lounge contained many board games, books and toys for children of all ages eg a car mat which was a lovely touch. It was nice to know that families were indeed welcome. My favourite place in the whole house was a window seat in the lounge where I would tuck myself away once the children were in bed and watch the world go by. Parking could be a problem but we followed Charles advice and used a website called JustPark and booked a space in a driveway a 15 mins walk away. Whilst we didn't mind the walk and were just relieved that we could park the car anytime we wanted, those with walking difficulties could find that a problem. Communication with Charles was also without fault, a rare luxury! We adored this house and will definitely be returning as soon as we can.

Home from Home
Having stayed in St Ives approximately 15-20 times over the last 30 years, this was the first time we stayed in Downalong. We loved it. Such a charming part of the town that we got to explore a little more this year. The cottage was so lovely, and well appointed that I wanted to buy it! I travelled with my husband, our two children aged 21 and 19, and our son's girlfriend aged 20. All of the younger ones love St Ives as much as we do, and are happy to come with us every year. Our favourite place.

Great spot & lovely accommodation
We had a great time in St Ives and the owners communication was excellent. There is no parking spot, but you can pay £35 for a week of parking just up the street. It's about 3-5 minutes to walk to the quaint shopping area & the water, cafes etc. We had a toddler with us, and it was no problem having her at the cottage (as long as we kept an eye on her, considering all the stairs).

Fabulous week
What a fabulous place to stay, right in the heart of the harbour area of st ives, could hear the sea with the windows open! The accomodation was of a very high standard, very clean, nice and spacious and very homely. We stayed for a week in February, we were very lucky with the weather! Would definitely stay here again and highly recomend, although I have been told st ives in the summer is very busy.
