Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Super view, lovely bath, good nights sleep and close to everything you could possibly need.
The view is awesome, and I totally agree that it's one of the best views of St Ives as the harbour is so cute. I only stayed a few days but they were a real tonic. It was hard to walk past all the wonderful food smells from the cafes and cook at home, so we didn't do that very much. The bath was gorgeous so had a few long soaks and I loved the nearness to everything. Couldn't fault it as even the weather was sunny.

Lovely quiet family cottage in the centre of St Ives
Such a lovely cottage to stay in, in the centre of St Ives. The cottage was more than big enough for our family of 5, the views are amazing and it had everything we needed. We loved the bath as well! The cottage is literally steps from Fore St and the harbour which was brilliant, but it was also very quiet and felt tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. Melanie was really helpful even though we were a last minute booking and it was very smooth booking and getting in to the cottage. Thanks for a lovely stay in St Ives!

If you would like comfortable holiday accommodation with a wonderful view, and quiet, but also in the centre of bustling St Ives then Admiral Cottage is perfect. The owners really care that you enjoy your stay there.

Perfect location for a family
The location of this property is directly behind the hustle and bustle of the busy town street, yet is super quiet and the views from the house and especially the attic bedroom are to die for. Perfectly safe to let the teens loose and a small garden to the front which was perfect for the early mornings with a dog. St ives was very busy and the restaurants/pubs were full or closed but enough takeaways for picnics on the beaches which surround the location.

Hidden Gem
We spent a week in this cottage in July 2021. The owner Melanie couldn’t have been more helpful. It is hidden away just off the main Street but still quiet and private. We really enjoyed learning to surf and trying the local restaurants. Will definitely come again. Fully recommend.

Great views, close to everything
The cottage was spotlessly clean and upstairs bed was very comfy. We stayed just before the restaurants reopened inside but still had some lovely local food. Lots of deli's/bakers for fresh produce and plenty of options for takeaway, Lovely beaches and shops all within easy walking distance. The views from the lounge and upstairs bedroom are amazing so even on a wet day you can just sit and admire the view. Our dog loved it as well (note the nice neighbour has two cats so be careful coming in the front if you have a dog that doesn't like cats). Owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. As others have said no parking on site so be prepared to take a while to find a spot.

Lovely stay in St Ives
We spent a lovely week at Admiral cottage in October. There was plenty of room in the cottage for the 6 of us and our dog! The cottage has everything you need -is well equipped and is very comfortable with great sea views. The location is perfect-easy access to everything in St Ives and the house was spotlessly clean and the towels and linen were fresh and clean. All in all, we had a wonderful stay-the only negative is access to the cottage-we hadn't realised exactly where it was and upon arriving in the dark it was a bit tricky to find(!). There are a lot of steep steps to access the cottage and it is not possible to get your car close to the property so if you struggle with walking or have lots of luggage this is something to bear in mind, however once in and settled the cottage is a great place to spend a week in St Ives and did not stop us from having a great time. Communication throughout was excellent-thank you very much for an enjoyable stay!

Lovely harbour and sea views, convenient location up steps from Fore Street.
We enjoyed our week in this well equipped cosy property. Suited our family of 4 adults and pet very well. Good location to get to all the beaches and shops. Lovely sunny outlook from cottage and front garden. Would very much like to return.

Great location, wonderful views.
A lovely, cozy house sitting in a great spot just a stones throw away from Fore Street and within minutes of various beaches. The views of the harbour from the living space and top bedroom are stunning. The property was well laid out, spotlessly clean and with all you could need for a comfortable holiday. Melanie was extremely helpful and made everything work smoothly during 'trying' Covid times.

Lovely little home from home in the heart of St Ives
Had a wonderful week in St Ives staying at Admiral cottage. Just minutes off the busy Fore Street but no sounds of the hussle or bustle. Beautiful views from the lounge and loft rooms, and everything you need for a family stay is provided. A well equipped Kitchen, nice comfortable seating area and table to watch the tide come in made for some lovely family time. We’ll definitely return 🙂

About the neighbourhood
St Ives is well known as a popular holiday destination, famous for its beautiful beaches, excellent surfing and many art galleries. St Ives has a September Festival. The St Ives September Festival is one of the longest running and widest ranging Festivals of the Arts in the UK. The duration of the festival goes about 15 days and includes a range of arts from Music (including Folk, Jazz, Rock, Classical & World) to Poetry, Film, Talks and Books. It was founded in 1978 as a joint venture by a group of local entrepreneurs and the nearby International Musicians Seminar. There is a May day celebration like no other, which culminates in dancing around the Knill Monument. The fun stuff is the surfing, the beaches, the wonderful array of arts to buy and that unique quality of light that drew artists to the town in the first place.
