The reviewer from June 2013 has said it all. We stayed in December but the view from the windows and patios was absolutely stunning. The cottage itself is very well presented, bags of storage and everything you could wish for. It has storage heaters in the main rooms which are not quite as nice as CH and the hall/landing were unheated but this did not detract from our stay. A special thank you to the neighbours/house managers, who were charming. One thing that is really good is that you can pop across to Dartmouth for the evening on either of the two ferries jus 250 metres away - make sure you don't miss the last boat at about 1100 pm as it's a long swim home. The area is just wonderful for walking but get or bring a decent map. There are recommended walks and maps in the cottage but they don't cover everything. Try the walk up to Dittisham on the Dartmouth side and back on the Kingswear side (lunch at the Ferry Inn). Walk one way to Coleton Fishacre and back via the coast...

We recently stayed at River Cottage after finding it through an internet search engine. The property was first class and everything was of the highest standard. It was spotless on arrival, the kitchen contained everything needed, even down to a dishcloth, dishwasher tablets and washing powder! The lounge overlooked a small patio area which had the sunshine all afternoon and had stunning view over the River Dart. The bedrooms were well laid out with plenty of storage as was the bathroom. The neighbours were very friendly and explained to us the day to day routines such as rubbish collection etc. Overall, I would recommend River Cottage and will definitely be looking to stay here again. NB I would point out that access to the property is via a very steep hill and several steps. Therefore it is unsuitable for disabled or people with mobility problems. Vehicular access is restricted to smaller cars due to the very narrow road that the cottage is located on. However, parking is available a...
