Holiday Rental House
A 19th century family cottage surrounded by a very flowery garden and rolling countryside. The ground floor has the kitchen and a large dining room (with a piano that is reasonably in tune) and the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The first floor has a bright and spacious living room with an open fireplace, one bedroom with two single beds, and one with two single beds size pushed together into a super king size bed. Plasma screen TV with DVD player and a classic DVD collection, including some for children. We have all baby equipment: cot, playpen, highchair, bouncing chair, microwave oven, hand blender... This is a family home rather than a formal rental property, so we hope guests will treat it like their own. We stayed at Dibbens cottage over the summer with our two young boys, and we loved it so much. It’s the prettiest cottage I have ever seen with lovely gardens and plenty of good hiding places for the children to play. There are lots of...More

Beautiful cottage in the countryside of Semley. I recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. A huge garden for families with children to play. Will sure be visiting in the future and will stay longer.

A characterful, well equipped cottage, in a beautiful location, close to Semley village. Would appeal to those wishing to stay in an atmospheric cottage, virtually untouched for the last 50+ years. Would benefit from the addition of a shower, although there was plenty of hot...More

We have just spent a very happy ten days feeling "home from home" without the responsibility for the enchanting and spacious garden! This, even at this late stage in the season, was packed with interest and loving care, along with this wonderfully unpretentious and charming...More

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is surrounded by a large and very flowery garden. It is on the edge of a very quiet road, and overlooks the beautiful parkland of the neighbouring estate. The village of Semley is 3 km away, and has a very pretty village store, a pub with decent food, and a church.
How to get there
If you're coming from the A303: turn south on the A350 towards Shaftesbury, drive a couple of miles and take the left turn indicating 'West Tisbury'. Drive a couple of miles, through the tiny hamlet (4 houses) of Kinghay, cross the little bridge then another km and Dibben's cottage is on the right. There are no other houses nearby so you can't miss it. If you're coming from Shaftesbury. Drive up the A350 then take a right at the sign indicating Semley. Drive through Semley then out again by the road to the right of the Bennet Arms, and another couple of miles to Pythouse gate house. At the gate house, take a left. Dibben's cottage is the first house on the left (you can't miss it as there are no other houses for another couple of miles).
