Rookyard Cottage is a newly built, eco-friendly, single storey cottage. It has a timber frame with recycled newspaper insulation, rainwater harvesting and solar heated water. Guests may use the owners’ private indoor heated swimming pool. It is called Rookyard Cottage because of the many rooks that are frequent visitors to the grounds of Valley Farm.

The cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a twin each with an en-suite bathroom. One bathroom is equipped for use by disabled guests with a large walk-in shower and grab rails . The sitting/dining room has a vaulted timber ceiling and a modern, well equipped, kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. A log burning stove is backed up by full oil fired central heating. We stayed at Rookyard cottage for a short 3 night break in the Easter holidays with our two young kids (5 & 3). The property is spacious, clean and homely and is a lovely setting. The kids loved playing on the swings and generally running around the paddock. It's a great location as it's an easy drive to Southwold and Aldeburgh. We would stay there again and use the swimming pool next time!
