Situated in the medieval town of Rye with its cobbled streets, narrow passages and beautifully preserved Tudor and Georgian buildings. Built in 1830 this elegant town house in the conservation area in Rye, is under 500 yards from the historic Landgate Arch, through which one had to pass at high tide in order to reach the mainland when Rye was an island. Accommodation is provided over three floors and the garden faces the town Salts, originally salt marshes and now home to the town cricket pitch, pull up your deckchair and enjoy a quintessentially English summer pastime. The autumn hails the bonfire season in 1066 country, where many towns and villages including Rye celebrate on different weekends with processions, bonfires and of course firework displays. Visit Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, the remains of Henry VIIIs Camber Castle and try kite surfing on the huge expanse of sand at Camber, canoe on the Rother or hike the 1066 Country Walk. Golf, fishing and bike hire are available locally. There are train connections from Rye to Hastings, Ashford and London for further sightseeing opportunities. Beach 3 miles.
