This little cottage excels at the basics. We stayed here for a long weekend with a young baby.
The cottage is built to modern standards, so it's warm and cosy, the ceilings and doorways are a good height, the stairs aren't steep. The bedroom was plenty big enough to fit our travel cot, and the bed was very comfy. The showers were hot and strong, though the decor was a bit dated. There's a second bedroom that we didn't use.
Downstairs, the kitchen and living room are separate, so you can retire from one to the other and snuggle up in front of the fire (firewood is a small extra charge). The kitchen had one of everything we went looking for, while cooking.
The setting of the cottage is really lovely. The front view is rolling fields - I couldn't see any artificial light at night. At the back was a huge garden, with BBQ, which would be wonderful in warmer weather. The owners are within easy reach down the drive, but out of sight, so you feel completely private...
