We chose this cottage as it was a convenient location for a wedding that took place in the Baptist church in the village. The cottage was perfect for us groomsmen and the groom with plenty of space to relax before the wedding and get ready. (There were 7 of us in total) The facilities were fantastic - the kitchen was...

What can we say? Margaret and David were incredibly gracious and patient regarding our payment issues and challenges with our overseas wire! We sincerely appreciated their understanding. As for the house, the photographs do not do it justice - it was spacious enough for our party of 9, but also incredibly cozy after long days out in the cold! We...

About the neighbourhood
Bourton-on-the-Water, one of the most famous and prettiest villages of the Cotswolds, is located at the hub of the area so is an ideal base from which to explore. Known as 'The Venice of the Cotswolds' it is the only one of the six famous Cotswold villages ( Bourton-on-the-water, Broadway, Burford, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold) to have a river meandering through the main street. This is criss-crossed by small footbridges and populated by wildfowl. On all sides are charming Cotswold buildings of honey-coloured stone, mellowed by age and softened by foliage. The centuries roll back and it is easy to envisage the appearance of an English village in a bygone era. Places of interest in Bourton include Birdland, the Motor Museum, the Perfumery, the Model Vill... more
