We had a great stay at Birch house. It was well equipped, and we particularly enjoyed the table-tennis room, as well as having breakfast in the sun on the patio at the back of the house. Just a few minutes' walk to the centre of Stow, but far enough away to be more peaceful than the centre itself.

Excellent location just minutes walk to centre of Stow. The house adequately accommodated seven adults with all facilities in place. Stow is a lovely village and a great base for seeing the Cotswolds. Highly recommend this house.

About the neighbourhood
Stow-on-the-Wold is a Cotswold Wool Town, situated in the heart of the Cotswold Hills on the Roman Fosse Way. It is the highest point in the Cotswolds at a height of 800 feet above sea level.King Henry I granted Stow its first charter for a weekly market in the year 1107. It soon became an important and famous market town, mostly due to the wool trade. Some of the houses nearby still feature alleyways (sheep runs) connected to the square, which were used for herding sheep to be sold at the market.Today, Stow-on-the-Wold is a bustling market town that thrives on tourism and the antiques trade. Many of the buildings date back to the 16th Century and are built from local honey-coloured Cotswold stone. There are numerous restaurants, tea-rooms and old English Inns in which to relax.Stratfo... more
