The apartment was beautifully decorated and furnished. Everything was clean and comfortable! The views are breath taking and i wish we could of stayed longer! The best holiday rental I have stayed in!

We spent 6 nights at this lovely cottage. The location was very convenient ,just 10min from Ambleside .The flat is overlooking the lake and the views are amazing.The flat is well equipped,clean and nicely decorated. The only disadvantage is that the roof as it is a loft conversion is low one side of the flat.This makes the sitting room and...

Thanks for a.lovely relaxing stay at the muse.we had a great time in sawrey it was a great base for our stay. The muse had fantastic views and was perfectly kitted out for all our needs. We could easily have stayed longer!thanks again to the owners.

About the neighbourhood
Near Sawrey is at the heart of the Lake District and is a perfect base for Windermere, Ambleside, the Langdales and Coniston. Hawkshead is only a couple of miles away and offers cafes, pubs and restaurants serving snacks and bar meals. Recommended is the Kings Arms.<BR> <BR>However, in Near Sawrey there is a very good inn, The Tower Bank Arms, famous from its inclusion in, The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck. And Sawrey House both serve great food although at busy periods it would be worth while reserving a table. The Sawrey Hotel in the next village is open to non- residents and serves a 3/5 course evening meal - booking is essential.<BR>

How to get there
Directions to Esthwaite Muse & Little Esthwaite Cottage.<BR><BR>Using the ferry. <BR><BR>Please exit the M6 at junction 36 and follow the A591 for Windermere.<BR>At the end of the duel carriageway take the first exit at the traffic island signposted B5284 Hawkshead via ferry.<BR>Follow the signs for Hawkshead and the ferry.<BR>The fee on the ferry is £4 each way. There are 18 spaces and it is a popular service so do expect queues in busy periods, especially in the summer.<BR>On leaving the ferry follow the B5285 road for about 2 miles to Near Sawrey.<BR>Entering the village you will pass the Tower Bank Arms on your left.
