An immaculately presented, deceptively spacious family built & owned semi-detached house is situated in the pretty hamlet of Torver, approx. 2 miles from Coniston in the heart of the Lake District. This two storey property can comfortably accommodate 6 people (including children/infants), has a king-sized master bedroom with en-suite and TV/DVD, two twin bedrooms (one with TV/DVD), family bathroom with shower over and a downstairs wc.

Fully refurbished in 2013, guests can enjoy a 50' TV, free wifi, log burning stove (starter basket included), large living / dining area which can accommodate 8 people comfortably, quality oak furniture, oak and slate flooring, fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Outside there is plenty of off-road parking (at least 4 cars) and enclosed patio with BBQ and garden furniture to lawned garden.

House keys will be left in a keysafe for you to access upon arrival. We will let you settle in and find your feet without disturbing you - we don't meet and greet. We are always available by phone, mail or text should you have any issues at anytime. We are sometimes at the family bungalow next door, so you may well see us at the bar.

Central Lakes location. Very comfortable and spotless and fully equipped accommodation. we were also blessed with fabulous weather which was an added bonus. Only one word to describe our stay at Ash Gill cottage, Brilliant!!!

Place was very lovely, well decorated, stocked with all amenities you may require, and extremely clean. Beds were also very comfortable, we had very relaxing sleeps. Very peaceful surroundings but walking distance from several pubs for dinner. It’s a great place to explore the Lake...More

Torver, in the shadow of 'Coniston Old Man', nestles a pretty community based hamlet approx. 2 miles from Coniston.

With easy access to the southern fells of the Lake District, it is quiet enough to be away from the main tourist hub, yet a thriving vibrancy exists with stunning scenery and activities on your doorstep.

With two great pubs and a local village deli, you can dine with locals and tourists alike, enjoying award-winning real ales, open log-fires and banter with local characters and friendly, welcoming staff, you'll soon feel part of the Torver family.

A wealth of activities from gentle walks to rock-climbing, lake cruises to gorge scrambling can be enjoyed. Torver Country Fair is usually mid August annually, and with vintage motor cycle gatherings, charity tractor...
Getting around
The easiest and most convenient way to get around is by car, if you're not walking, are less mobile or venturing further afield.

Local Taxis based in Coniston are rare but it can be possible if booked well in advance.
Taxis will be available from the larger towns (Ulverston, Ambleside) and a premium will be charged for the distance callout.

There are local bus stops within 150m, the x12 bus run approx every 1.5hrs during the day down to Coniston and over to Ulverston.
Connections can be made from Coniston across to Ambleside and Lake Windermere and from Ulverston to Barrow-in-Furness.

Follow A590 signposted South Lakes, Kendal and Barrow for approx. 20 miles

At Greenodd roundabout, take 2nd exit towards Workington A5902, for approx. 2 miles.

Take A5084, signposted Coniston, stay on for approx. 6 miles, pass the Land Rover garage.

At the T-Junction (Wilson Arms opposite), take a left (A593 towards Broughton) and turn immediately right (as if going into Wilsons car park) and follow road round to the left.

Ash Gill Cottage is on your left, immediately after Ash Gill Bungalow on the corner.
