The rental is part of a working farm. There are cats and chicken wandering about and the drive from the main road is through pastures with ewes and their lambs (in April, anyway). Helen was kind enough to allow us to hand feed some of...More

Railway: Kendal: 9.0 km
Ferry: Liverpool (Car hire available from here): 140.0 km
From the South:

* Exit M6 at junction 36 Kendal turnoff and follow the signs Kendal south A6.

* Once in Kendal, follow the signs for A6 Penrith and Shap.

* Ashstead Farmhouse is approx 8 miles along the A6.

* Look out for Ashstead sign after the S-bend on the right hand side of road. The turn-off is 200 yards before Kendal Caravans.

* After turning off, continue down the lane, turn right over the cattle grid onto the single track lane.

* Continue along this lane and go through the white gate (please follow the country code and leave gates and property as you find them).

* Ashstead will be the first white farmhouse on the left-hand side.


From the North:

* Exit the M6 at junction 39 signposted Shap and the follow the signs towards Kendal turning left onto the A6....
