Sublime setting, perfect accommodation and wonderful, kind hosts. Deserves all the praise it gets here and elsewhere. A beautiful bank holiday weekend spent in the ideal place.

About the neighbourhood
Kendal is the gateway to The Lake District and is a vibrant local community. You'll find everything you need in the way of cafes, restaurants, shops & supermarkets plus the leisure Centre and the famous Kendal Brewery Arts Centre which hosts live gigs, films, theatre & more. Windermere and Ambleside are just down the road and our proximity to the M6 and A66 means that Keswick and the Western Lakes are no more than an hour away ... or maybe you'd like to visit Kirkby Lonsdale or Ingleton in the Dales ... less than 30 minutes away. This is a great location for a holiday whatever your ages or interests - you'll never run out of new things to do.

How to get there
How to get here

By car we are just 3 miles from M6 J37. It's best to fly to Manchester and take the train to Kendal although London Euston railway station is only 2.5 hours away by train so travelling to one of the London airports is also a possibility. We recommend hiring a car in order to make the most of your stay although about 10% of guests do arrive by Taxi. We are 5 or 6 miles from Oxenholme station on the main London-Scotland train line. There is a regular bus service from the end of the drive.
