Apartment was in great location, close to train station and shops, bars, restaurants, etc. I expected the apartment to be stylish and very clean based on the previous reviews and photos, but sadly this wasn't the case. So first day we were there ended up having to clean it to habitable standard, as apparently had previous occupants, who had wrote similar in the visitors book. I stayed at this property with my parents (double room), my 5 year old and 1 year old (twin room). There was enough space in the twin room for the travel cot to fit in between the 2 beds for my 1 year old. We had a very pleasant stay there. Supermarket close by, chippy next door, and various restaurants, although because of time of year, we had to book a table. Across the road...

Stayed here 22nd March 2014 for three nights. Very spacious clean apartment. Ideal location for Orrest Head, Windermere village and a short walk to Bowness. Would certanly recommend a stay here. The car parking space is a bonus also.

The apartment is available from 3pm on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 10am on your departure date.

Leave M6 at junction 36 and take the A590/A591 signs to Windermere (approx 15 miles).Caxton House is located on the A591 just after the Nat West and pedestrian crossing.1hr Parking outside but private parking located at the rear of the property.(details will be sent on booking)<BR><BR><BR>Nearest Travel Links<BR>Airport: Blackpool: 60 km<BR>Railway: Windermere: 0km<BR>Ferry: Heysham: 40 km<BR><BR>M6 motorway, then A591 all the way to Windermere, only 20 minutes off the M6.<BR><BR>Trains change at Oxenholme ( near Kendal ) then get branch line to Windermere, 2 minutes walk from the station.
