Located in the heart of the beautiful Lake District, Birthwaite Cottage is a traditional lakeland cottage set back from the road via its own private drive. The cottage has a bright and airy dining room and sitting room with separate kitchen. Upstairs is a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower.<BR><BR>The cottage also benefits from a large, secluded garden with a large decked terrace with views towards Lake Windermere. The cottage is an ideal hideaway for a romantic week in the Lakes. Lake Windermere is a 5 minute walk away and you can walk to the the heart of Windermere village within a few minutes.

Very good accommodation a short walk from the lake and village. Now with decent size wine glasses and coat hooks, as per my comments last year :-) Go careful at the bottom of the drive as it is very easy to scrape your front bumper or spoiler. The cottage was excellent clean and tidy very well presented would recommend it without any hesitation. We had a very relaxing week and thanks to Bob for his help and hospitality and local knowledge.

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. It is a ribbon lake formed in a glacial trough after the retreat of ice at the start of the current interglacial. It has been one of the country’s most popular places for holidays and summer homes since 1847, when the Kendal and Windermere Railway built a branch line to it. It is in the county of Cumbria and entirely within the Lake District National Park.
