Went here as 4 couples for a weekend break. Brilliant place. 4 bedrooms with 3 of them having en-suite bathrooms which was great. Our bedroom in the attic had a jacuzzi bath. The cottage had everything you need. Big table in the kitchen which was great to sit round to eat and drink. Excellent location with Windermere just being 5...

This lovely cottage is situated close to the local amenities in Windermere. Heaps of space with 5 bath/shower rooms and a ground toilet. Very homely downstairs with two fireplaces! Throughly enjoyed my stay here and would love to come back.

About the neighbourhood
A great day out can be spent at the national park visitors centre, here you will find extensive well-maintained gardens, an adventure playground for the kids and loads of information about the surrounding area. There is a huge variety of horse riding, fishing and other lake-side water sports to suit all ages. On lake Windermere there are steamers and boat rides for you to enjoy as well as the aquarium of lakes.
With over 1800 miles of footpaths to enjoy you will be spoilt for choice, so make sure to plan your route carefully (see visitors centre for advice). We would recommend a short climb to the viewpoint at Orrest Head, or a stroll down towards the lake and Miller Ground.
The town of Kendal is only 10 miles away where you will find a variety of shops and a rich local history.

From M6. Leave the M6 at junction 36, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A590 (signposted Kendal, Barrow). Continue forward onto the A591 (signposted Windermere). At roundabout take the 2nd exit along the A591 (signposted Windermere) Continue forward until you reach Windermere. For different routes please see the AA website where you can plan a route from different starting towns.

Alternatively take the train to Windermere station (direct service from Manchester airport).
