WE HAVE PRIVATE PARKING. Abbey View cottage is located in The Paddock in the centre of Whitby and is a quiet oasis in the heart of this bustling coastal town. Its central location means that it is minutes from every thing that Whitby has to offer: restaurants, bistros, local shops, supermarkets, museums, galleries and the beach. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard but has retained many of the original features such as beamed ceilings and wide floor boards. About the neighbourhood
Whitby is situated at the mouth of the river Esk. It is divided into the East side and the West side by the river. A swing bridge connects the two sides and is swung open at high tide to let fishing boats and yachts through into the upper harbour. The East side has the old cobbled streets, Whitby Abbey, St Mary's Parish church and the 199 steps, the Lifeboat Station and the Old Market Place. On the West side at the waters edge are the fish markets where the Whitby fishing fleet lands its catch and all along the waterfront wine bars, pubs and restaurants are located. Further back from the harbours edge antique shops, tea rooms and more restaurants can be found.
