The lounge is one of three rooms on the 
mezzanine. Flooded with sunlight and view across the city.
Dining are of the dining kitchen, very spacious and flooded with light from the long windows.
The entrance to this beautifully converted County hospital set off the main road in a quiet position
County House. Close to the Minster, shown top right of the photo. Just a few moments away.
Looking towards the kitchen area. South facing so all day sunshine, very pleasant to area for lunch.
The Star in the City. Great place for a drink or a meal. time to relax.
Bedroom 2, This is on the mezzanine, there is a private alternative 3rd bedroom/office more private.
2nd Bedroom, on Mazzanine, bigger than it appears and facing the sun. Lovely room, children love it.
County House... a fabulous building in the best area of York, near The Minster. Tourist area.
County House is the old County Hospital, sympathetically renovated into the most beautiful building.
En suit shower room adjoining Master Bedroom. Recently refurbished, and very private.
Family bathroom upstairs near bedroom 2 and Lounge. Bath and Shower, recently refurbished.
Lounge on mezzanine, very comfortable, view accross the city, lovely at night. TV facing sofas.
Office/Bedroom 3. Private alternative to the mezzanine bedroom if required. Includes full size desk
Magnificent Entrance Hall to Apartment. This listed building used to be the County Hospital.

River cruise/walk. So much to see and do in York, all within easy walking distance to apartment.
Famous riverside pub which floods each year.
Tudor buildings by the Minster, just moments away.
Picnic by the Minster, fabulous area, very peaceful lovely green area.

This impressive period property is on the very doorstep of all that is interesting and exciting about York, you could not be better placed for a perfect city break. The area of Monkgate is a very upmarket residential area very close to York Minster and the city walls. The apartment is on the top floor of the very beautiful County House apartment block (this before converted was the County Hospital). The rooms are, spacious (much larger than they appear in the photographs) and light, and are furnished and equipped to a very high standard. This was our third stay at the apartment and it was outstanding as ever. Sandra keeps the place immaculate and it has a unique and great layout. I've read other reviews and although the upper bedroom does look over into the lower one, we've never found any problems and there is a third bedroom that offers more privacy on request....

We stayed at County House apartments in York. The location is great - very central and right beside a Sainsburys so you can buy all your essentials there. The apartment is about 5 minutes walk from York Minster and the walls so you couldn't have a better location. The apartment itself is clean, spacious and bright and we didn't want...

Ideal location York is just a short walk away. The apt is light, airy and spacious. The kitchen is ok. There isn't a dishwasher but the cups/mugs glasses and plates were all clean and cleaning materials were supplied on our visit. The bed is a double with a softer mattress than either of us is used to but very comfortable....

This is a lovely quiet flat on the second (top) floor of a four storey building. It has a view of York minster and the city centre. As you walk through the door you walk into a light and carpeted hallway, to your left is the new bathroom, straight ahead the downstairs bedroom, to your right a doorway to the kitchen and dining area and then the stairs leading in two directions, one to the mezzanine bedroom and the other to the mezzanine lounge. The apartment is very light as it has 4 long windows about ten foot long which bring light to both floors. The apartment is very cosy and warm and has all that you would need for your stay. York is the capital city of Yorkshire. York is an all year round tourist resort with its many attractions such as, river walks/cruises, quaint gift/designer shops, cafes and international cuisine. There is a large cosmopolitan shopping area, including upmarket wine bars restaurants and pubs. There is a particularly special atmosphere during the weeks prior to Christmas, a perfect place for Christmas shopping and getting in the mood!<BR><BR>The City attractions include, the famous York Minster, Medieval Churches, Historic buildings, City walls and gate walks, Ghost walks, Theatre, Art galleries, Museums including National Railway Museum, Festivals, Street entertainers and a whole city immersed in history since AD 71.

As the apartment is very central in York there is no need for transport, all amenities in York are accessible by foot. If you wish to travel to the coastal regions you are on the right side of York to access the A64 coastal road which is very close.

York is in North Yorkshire, North East England and is easily accessible from all parts of the UK.<BR>The most convenient airport to York is Manchester, although it is not the nearest you can get a train directly from the airport terminal to York, about one to one half hour journey. Leeds Bradford airport is the nearest airport and there is a bus service to York from there. From the train station in York a taxi is best if you have heavy luggage, just 4 or 5 mins drive through the centre. York station is however close enough to the apartment to walk, detailed directions can be given should you take this option. For those of you driving there is a secure car park in front of the building with a reservation for one car.
