It is located a comfortable 12 minute stroll from York's historic city walls in a quiet development, in an elevated position (unaffected by recent floods), ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, and overlooks a pleasant central green. This luxurious centrally-heated semi-detached house has 2 allocated off-street parking spaces, 3 bedrooms, 1 en-suite shower room, 1 family bathroom, 1 downstairs WC, a good-sized kitchen-diner, comfy and stylish lounge, as well as free WIFI. Smart HD TV with access to Amazon Video and Netflix accounts. There is also free on street parking available, especially at weekends. Some guests have managed to park three cars in the allocated spaces. Perfect for families, friends and couples, the house comfortably sleeps four people with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. There are 3 bedrooms. You are welcome to bring a baby as well. You are welcome to bring your own travel cot; we do not supply this for health and hygiene reasons. We have a booster feeding seat available which straps on to a dining chair. We welcome children and babies of any age. The house provides all quality linen, towels, complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner, along with tea, coffee, fresh milk, sugar and biscuits. There is a good sized garden with attractive plants and garden furniture provided, along with a retractable washing line. The lounge is furnished with a two-seater leather sofa, one large snuggler armchair and one regular sized armchair. The 43' flatscreen HD Freeview smart TV has lots of apps including access to an Amazon Video & Netflix accounts with lots of free films and TV programmes available and we have plenty of books and board games to keep you entertained. We also have a Nintendo wii with 4 controllers and plenty of games. The kitchen has a new tall fridge, new separate under-counter freezer with 4 drawers, new dishwasher and washing machine. There is a table which comfortably seats four people. There is an electric oven and hob, microwave, toaster and kettle along with quality kitchen implements, pans and plenty of crockery and glassware. All three bedrooms have good quality mattresses, comfy sprung-slatted beds, bedding and black-out curtains. All bath sheets and hand towels are provided. There are safety restrictors on upstairs windows to keep children safe and a night light on the landing. Most of the furniture is attached to the walls to make it safe for children and avoid any toppling incidents. We provide a travel stair gate, clothes airer, ironing board and iron. The en-suite has pleasant white fittings and a walk-in shower with good quality electric shower and chrome heated towel rail and a window. The family bathroom has a bath with quality thermostatic riser power shower over it, shower screen, white fittings and heated chrome towel rail and window. Two hairdryers and hair straightener mats are also provided. We also supply an emergency box of supplies that you may have forgotten or may need, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, plasters, deodorant, sewing kit, baby wipes, razors, etc. If you plan to stay more than a week, then we can offer a full clean (£15) and/or change of linen (£20) each week. Week-long stays also have an automatic discount applied. The house has fully wired-in smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector inside the boiler cupboard. We also have a first aid kit and fire blanket in the kitchen. You are welcome to arrive any time after 3pm on your first day, however late; we have a key box next to the front door, which allows you to let yourselves in; I live in York so can be on-hand if you need help with anything. Most people like the flexibility and privacy of self check-in, so I usually text or email the code to you the day before you arrive. Check out is 10am. We find that guests like the flexibility and privacy of self-check-in. However, I live locally and will be contactable by phone or email between 8am and 10pm if you need help or have any queries and can usually make it over to the house within half an hour if necessary.

Feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this house, it's an absolute gem, photos don't do it justice. Great to have a family bathroom, ensuite and downstairs wc for our group of girl friends, kitchen was really well equipped, bedrooms beautifully appointed. Allocated parking too!...More

Nice clean house in quiet location with good parking. Easy stroll into York. The York Castle Museum is well worth seeing.

Excellent location for a pleasant walk into York city centre and also within a short driving distance of retail parks and leisure centre. Henshaw house is well equipped and very clean. The pint of milk in the fridge and Waitrose shortbread was a nice touch....More

About the neighbourhood
Henshaw House is situated in a small, quiet, modern development in an elevated position (unaffected by recent floods), away from roads and noisy bars and overlooks a pleasant central green. Huntington Mews is only a 12 minute stroll to the city walls. The house has an enclosed garden which provides a tranquil space to relax in at the end of a busy day of sight seeing and shopping. The house also has the great addition of 2 private off-road allocated parking spaces, along with free on-street parking. It is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the railway station. Supermarkets; Asda at Layterthorpe YO31 7UZ /Tesco Express, Huntington Road YO31 9HP / Waitrose, Foss Islands. Large Spar 5 minutes walk away too.
Getting around
Directions by car from railway station; When driving out of the station, turn left (towards Royal York Hotel) and follow road up Station Road, towards the city centre, over Lendal bridge (you will see the Minster ahead). At the first traffic lights after Lendal bridge, with the Minster in sight, turn left (going past the theatre royal on your right and then gallery on your left). At the next lights, carry straight ahead on to Gillygate, past a row of shops and restaurants and then first right on to Lord Mayor's walk. You will see the city walls on your right. Take second left (at a main junction with traffic lights) on to Monkgate. Drive up Monkgate until you reach a small roundabout. Go straight ahead here on to Huntington Rd. Cont below;
