The living room is light,airy, and comfortably furnished with sofa, easy chairs and TV. Cable WiFi
The living space flows into the dining / kitchen, creating a sense of spaciousness.
The well fitted  Breakfast/Kitchen offers a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer & microwave.
Windows on two sides gives pleasant views, particularly when the Magnolia tree is in blossom.
The kitchen opens on to a wooden deck, long gravelled garden with magnificent trees. Table & chairs.
The main bedroom offers a King bed, convertible to two twins. A range of wardrobes & TV.
The en suite offers a shower, washbasin and toilet.
The back bedroom has a double bed, range of wardrobes, and TV.
The main bathroom has a bath and shower, wash basin and toilet.
The twin bedroom on the 2nd floor is accessed by a paddle staircase - unsuitable for v young/elderly
The twin bedroom on 2nd floor is charming, with great views. There is a wash basin, but no toilet.
Hawkwell House Hotel is across the road from the cottage, and welcomes non residents
Ponies are a favourite with visiting children, as they stroll from cottage to shop, church & river.
The Tree Hotel specialises in European and Eastern cuisine, & offers a Sunday buffet lunch.
The Prince of Wales has a good restaurant, and is open during normal opening hours.
Iffley Village Shop is run by villagers, and offers a good selection of groceries. Closed Wed PM.
The village hall in Church Way where coffee is served after morning service on Sundays
Paying a thought to the famous Chestnut Tree at the end Church Way, which is nearing it's life's end
St Mary's Church is of great historic interest, and is famous for it's Piper window.
The interior of St Mary's Church is stunning.
Once you've explored the village, you'll arrive at Iffley Lock, where you can sit and dream.
This beautiful setting speaks for it's self. You are only 30 mins walk along the tow path to Oxford.

Midsomer Cottage is a delightful refurbished and extended three bedroom Victorian cottage with open outlooks, situated in a charming village within the Oxford ring road, and with easy access to the city. The accommodation is 4 star, stylish, and provides comfortable space for five or six people.

The main staircase is steep, with narrow treads, and there is a paddle staircase to the twin bedroom on the second floor, making it unsuitable for children under about seven, or the elderly. However a cot and stair gates are provided, and many families have enjoyed a happy and comfortable stay in the cottage.

The village of Iffley is ideal for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Oxford as it is on an excellent bus route into the city, is close to the river, and offers a lovely old Norman church with a Piper window. There is a community village...

Our aim is for you to have a relaxed and enjoyable stay, and over the past eight years we've built a reputation for helping to facilitate just that! Our manager Cheryl lives to the left of the cottage, and will aim to meet you when it's mutually convenient. So we ask you to inform her of your likely arrival time in advance. If she can't be there she will leave a key under the doormat, and call to meet you at her earliest convenience. There are two Sainsburys nearby, plus a Co-Op, plus the village shop (early closing Wednesdays). Our WiFi is excellent.

About the neighbourhood
Nearby there are two hotels, two pubs and a village shop. It is a pleasant 30 minute walk along the tow path to the city, where there is a wide variety of restaurants and shops, and of course the beautiful university colleges.
Getting around
A feature of life in Oxford is an easy bus service to airports, a good train service, and plenty of taxis. However perhaps a bike will seem most appropriate once you see how many there are in regular use.

Oxford is easily accessed from all leading airports by train, bus or taxi. .By car from M1, M40, A34.From Oxford Ring Road look for the Littlemore round-a-bout, and take the Iffley Road towards the city. Pass through Rose Hill, down hill, through traffic lights, and immediately left into Iffley Village. Straight across mini round-about into Church Way, and Midsomer Cottage is on the right, opposite the entrance to Hawkwell House Hotel.
