This is an absolute gem of a cottage in the very heart of wonderful historic Ludlow. We came by train from London, one change, but we did notice, that there are fast and direct trains from Manchester. It is SO central, a short walk from the train station, right by the brewery and a short walk from the big Aldi and Tesco yet perfect for the market, little shops, pubs, restaurants, castle, cinema etc. The cottage itself is an utter delight, a real home-from-home, a mix of a quirky grade two listed building combined with 5 star luxury. It is spotlessly clean, with an array of mood lighting, from the chandelier to the dear little lamps. We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages but none as well-equipped as this, the owners have thought of everything. The bedding and towels are crisp white and sumptuous. I always choose a cottage based on private, enclosed outside space and the darling garden is just lovely, perfect for resting after a day of exploring. My husband loved relaxing on the window seat, watching the world go by at a very leisurely pace. The owners Rachel and Shaun could not have been more helpful with my endless questions and are brilliant at knowing the local area, we would never have discovered the "parlour pubs" without them. If you are in need of rest and relaxation combined with LOADS to do without needing the car then this is a heavenly place to recharge. Pure loveliness!

Cosy "home from home".
Charlie's is perhaps the best equipped and cosiest cottage we've ever stayed in. It's also very clean, the shower is fab, the bed is comfy, and having free parking more or less right outside the door is brilliant.

Utterly Charming
Charlie's Cottage is utterly charming.
The location is ideal being just a short and pleasant walk into the town centre with the Castle and an array of beautiful shops, pubs and restaurants so close by.
We will undoubtedly be staying here again in the future.
The Cottage has everything you could need down to the last little touches, is tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Clearly lots of thought has gone into the Cottage. A perfect base for a weekend or a longer stay.
Fabulous and comfortable beds, a great power shower (always important!) delightful garden with bistro table and chairs and parking right outside the cottage - everything you need!
Ludlow Brewery is almost directly opposite and I recommend their beer tour/tasting - my hubby is now hooked.
The Castle, the town's history, walks, countryside, the market in the square - there is so much to do in this quintessentially old English town.
Charlie's Cottage has a warm and calm feeling about it. It really is a little piece of heaven.
Our hosts were brilliant too - thank you!
Nothing I can find to fault it.
Looking forward to staying again soon.

Handy base for visiting the area.
Very well converted old cottage with excellent accommodation for two or three people centrally located in Ludlow - but quiet. Well equipped, very helpful hosts, excellent arrangements for parking one car, near supermarkets, restaurants, bus stops and train station as well as more "touristy attractions" Care must be taken on box stair case and uneven bedroom floor, as well as to avoid low hanging chandeliers. Not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Please can I live here?
I’ve been several times and it’s always pristine with an eye to your comfort and in good taste. All essentials to hand, from kitchen oil to hand wash and lamps for relaxed evenings. Or venture into the garden and enjoy the lavender and Jasmine with a glass of wine. Rachel administers with efficiency and thoughtfulness. It’s always a joy!

A very special place
Charlies Cottage is somewhere special - probably the most beautifully decorated stay Ive ever had, with gorgeous high-end furnishings and fittings. Yet it felt completely cosy and at home and very comfortable. I had a brilliant stay, that really felt a treat. Super comfortable beds, brilliant shower, everything within the house that you could possibly need, close to a supermarket and the station, and a very short walk into the town centre. The host Rachel was really helpful and accommodating. Don’t think twice about booking here, you wont regret it!

Charlie's Cottage Ludlow
A beautiful cottage in an ideal location easy to walk into Ludlow. Parking was never an issue and even following day trips out we always managed to get parking right outside the door. The cottage contained everything you need and was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. My only slight negative was that the fridge was quite small and we struggled to get our food in. Loved the quiet courtyard garden which was ideal for sitting in with a coffee and a good book. Would definitely consider a second visit.

Ludlow sits on the edge of the Shropshire Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty and spectacular countryside. The town has an abundance of historical architecture and has around 500 listed buildings. Ludlow offers great coffee shops, wonderful places for lunch and dinner, a good selection of pubs, a speciality wine merchant only yards from the gates of Ludlow Castle and next door is a gourmet chocolate shop with chocolate truffles to die for. There are delicious delis for light bites and picnic treats, a speciality cheese shop championing local delicious artisan cheeses and award-winning Ludlow Brewery (located by the train station) and a range of small independent shops with a sprinkling of high-street chains too.
