The Cottage is detached, and situated at the end of a long driveway, 50 yards from the owners' house. It has a self-contained private patio - perfect for al fresco dining, or just soaking up the peace and quiet. Located in Shropshire, one of England's hidden treasures, which offers holiday makers so much: wonderful scenery, fantastic walking, ancient market towns, castles, stately homes and museums. It is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution back in 1779 when Abraham Darby built the first Iron Bridge, and Much Wenlock is the home of the Wenlock Olympic Games, which are thought to have inspired the modern Olympic Games that began in 1896. Little Springs Farm Cottage is just an hour and a half West of Birmingham, and being only 3.5 miles from Much Wenlock is strategically placed to enjoy all the County has to offer. With inspiring views along Wenlock Edge, and being situated near the Jack Mytton Way (one of the longest bridleways in England) visitors can explore the Edge and the Long Mynd, 4000 acres of spectacular wild countryside. Spend your days on country walks or browsing the ancient market towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Church Stretton - to name just a few - or explore the ten exciting Museums in the Ironbridge Gorge. Relax in the evenings at a local pub or just sit on the patio, maybe with a BBQ, and watch the sun go down over the Shropshire Hills. And if it gets chilly, you can retire to the cosy living room and watch the flames of the Log Burner. There is just so much to see and do it is hard to squeeze it all into just a few days. The Cottage is all on one level, and has a comfortable sitting/dining room with oak flooring, a beamed vaulted ceiling, exposed original stonework and a feature Clearview wood burning stove. There is a Smart TV with DVD/CD player, a table-for-two and a large sofa. An archway leads through to a fitted, fully equipped kitchen with full-sized LPG cooker, dishwasher and under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, together with a microwave, kettle and toaster. A door from the living room opens into a light and airy double bedroom, with a further door leading into the modern shower room, with a white suite of WC, vanity basin and large shower. The cottage also offers a secluded and private paved courtyard to the front, with extensive views over Wenlock Edge, a patio table and chairs, and a gas barbecue. There is private parking opposite. The rental cost of the cottage includes bed linen, towels, electricity, central heating and a generous supply of kindling and logs for the wood burner (further logs can be purchased at cost price). On arrival, you will find a Welcome Pack of milk, bread and a box of eggs laid by our own free-range chickens, together with initial supplies of tea, coffee and sugar, and household items such as kitchen roll, loo rolls, cling film, foil, washing-up liquid, etc.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The pefect rural retreat
Little Springs Cottage was our base for a week touring Shropshire and the surrounding area. The cottage was well equiped, cosy, clean and very comfortable. We loved waking up to the breath taking views across the sunlit fields and valley to Wenlock edge. After a day sightseeing we looked forward to returning to the cottage to relax and unwind. The cottage was lovely and warm helped by central heating and the wood burner, which we used during our week. Su and Ron were the perfect hosts, and welcomed us on our arrival, showing us all the facilities of the cottage and giving recommendations for places to visit and eat. We can recommend the Woodbridge Inn near Ironbridge and the Talbot Inn in Much Wenlock. As there is so much to see and do in the area we will definitely be returning again, with the cottage as our base for local walks and more sightseeing. We visited plenty of National Trust and English Heritage properties during the week and of particular note were Brockhampton Estate, Stokesay Castle, Wightwick Manor and Gardens. Further away we also enjoyed Biddulph Grange Gardens, Little Moreton Hall and Powis Castle. Also enjoyed visits to nearby Ironbridge and Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke on Trent Looking forward to a return visit

Dear Michael and Lucia, Thank you for your comprehensive and kind review. It must be testament to your excellent forward planning and organisational skills that you managed to cram so much into a week's stay! There is plenty more to see and do in the Shropshire countryside, however, and we would love to be able to welcome you back to Little Springs for some more exploration! Kind regards, Su and Ron.

Tranquility at its best
If you’re looking for somewhere for a total recharge and love peace, tranquility, views and walks in the countryside, then this little cottage won’t disappoint. It’s a well equipped, very clean, cosy, home from home little cottage where you can do as much or as little as you wish. There’s fabulous walks from Much Wenlock which is about 5 miles away along with nice places to eat, Wenlock Priory is a very interesting place and dog friendly. Benthall Hall is beautiful and the grounds are dog friendly. Wenlock Edge has beautiful woodland walks. You’re not far from the towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Ironbridge or Bridgnorth. It’s a gem in the Shropshire countryside. Su and Ron are warm, welcoming hosts who can advise on plenty of places to visit. A lovely touch is the fresh milk and bread along with eggs from their own hens for breakfast. This is a cottage you will want to return to.

Great place to relax
We have just come back from Little Springs cottage. What a lovely cosy cottage and so peaceful. Everything you could want for a break away from the stresses and strains of daily life. We took our rescue dog Bailey. This was our first time taking away so we wanted somewhere that she could feel comfortable in. She is very skittish and barks when frightened but we had a lovely bark free stay . Thank you Su and Ron for letting us stay in Little Springs we hope to be back soon xx

An absolute gem
We were met on arrival by Su and Ron who showed us round the cottage, which was super clean and 100% Covid-safe. The quiet location, looking across to Wenlock Edge, is a delight. The cottage contains everything you could possibly wish for and is wonderfully cosy, especially with the log fire burning. It was a joy to sit outside on a sunny October morning enjoying a cup of coffee on the patio. Much Wenlock, 10-15 minutes drive away, is a lovely small Shropshire town and Wenlock Priory is well worth a visit. As is 'Tea on the Square' for a great breakfast or cuppa and cake. There are plenty of English Heritage places to visit and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums are a short drive away. We will be back.
