We stayed at old Smithy loft while looking at Bath and Bristol universities. It was easy to find, close to the centre of Bath for meals / exploring but quiet and relaxing. The rooms were set up as we’d asked, the communication was good and...More

About the neighbourhood
Located on Sydney Wharf, The Old Smithy Loft is just across the road from the beautiful and tranquil Sydney Gardens, one of Bath's nicest greens. The apartment also backs onto the Kennet and Avon Canal walk, which is a popular cycle and walking route. You can follow the canal path out to the town of Bradford-on-Avon. Just a couple of minutes' walk from the city centre, The Old Smithy Loft is within easy walking distance of our favourite Italian restaurant Sotto Sotto and the delicious food at Nepalese food heaven Yak Yeti Yak. You can also enjoy Bath's many pubs, cocktail and wine bars within easy walking distance. Amidst this buzzing city life are Bath's beautiful attractions, from the local Holburne Museum to the Roman Baths.
Getting around
The best way to get around in central Bath is on foot. Most of the attractions are within 30 minutes' walk from one another and there's a whole host of cafes and restaurants if you need a quick rest. There are two taxi companies, for when you need them, and a good public transport link between the city and The Old Smithy Loft - although we're only 10 minutes' walk from the city centre! If you choose to bring a car, we have free private parking directly outside the property and great access to the A36 and M4. This puts The Old Smithy Loft in a great position for visiting areas all over the south and south west of England, as well as a quick route to the London airports.
