The Old Stables is a stone built cottage created from a stable block dating from the 1840’s . A three bedroom cottage (two king and one twin-bed)with a fully equipped kitchen opening onto a dining room. There is a separate living room with TV/DVD and two large leather couches .The living room opens onto the courtyard with large glass bi-fold doors. The Old Stables can accommodate 6 people. It is located in the beautiful Georgian village of Freshford which lies at the junction of the Frome and Avon valleys in the southern Cotswolds. Just 5 miles from Bath and 2 miles from the historic town of Bradford on Avon. Excellent base for families who want to explore the region and beyond. Very close to Bath (10 minutes by train) and direct train lines (from the local train station) to a number of South West tourism destinations. Very quiet and comfortable cottage.

The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable. Lovely village location, close to Bath with lovely local walks to the viaduct. Recommend the pub by the river next to the viaduct and the cream tea place there. Also a lovely, accommodating local pub in Freshford...More

We had a fab stay it was perfect for our needs. So easy to catch a train into bath for a wedding and £12 for a taxi home. Was very relaxing. We did some beautiful walks. Loved the community cafe for breakfast and the pub...More

About the neighbourhood
Freshford is a beautiful village at the southernmost tip of the Cotswold hills, about five miles southeast of Roman Bath and three miles west of Bradford-on-Avon. The excellent local pub and restaurant sits by a 16th century bridge, and Freshford also has a tiny railway station with hourly trains to Bath, which is a ten-minute journey, as well as numerous other destinations. There is a local village community shop and café. The village sits above the convergence of the Frome and Avon rivers and is largely characterised by gracious stone buildings surrounded by fields and woodland.
