This superb two-bedroom property near Bath forms the wing of a 17th Century former farmhouse with some later Georgian additions. The spacious, centrally-heated accommodation offers high quality, modern facilities combined with period features, which include a fantastic inglenook fireplace, original bread ovens and oak beams.

The ground floor is open plan, incorporating the kitchen, sitting room and dining area. The large, triple-aspect kitchen has two original bread ovens (non- working) as an interesting feature and a superb solid oak floor. It is equipped with all the usual modern appliances, including an electric range-style cooker and dishwasher. French doors lead onto the lovely large garden, which an extensive lawn, flowerbeds and a patio with patio furniture for guests to use and views over Marksbury village.

We live next to The Farmhouse Wing and are therefore on hand if you need us, but the holiday accommodation is entirely private and self-contained. We will show you into the property, give you the keys and are more than happy to offer help and advice on what to do and see to make the most of your visit, supplemented by lots of useful information provided within the house. We are, however, extremely mindful of our guests' privacy, which is backed up by our reviews and you can be reassured we will leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday.

We were charmed by the Farmhouse Wing which we found, superbly clean, extremely comfortable and rustically stylish. It was evident that much thought had gone into anticipating the needs of guests. The cottage is very well equipped and the adorable pet dogs were a definite attraction. A great base from which to explore Bath and Wells. On a rainy day...

We very much enjoyed our stay - in the beginning I had the feeling that we were staying in the owner's part of the cottage and that they were staying in the guest wing... as the luxuous kitchen, the well-organized furniture and some personal pictures on the wall, everything made me think of being guest in a family house rather...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer! The location is great (close to Bath and a well-stocked convenience store is just minutes away up the road) and the holiday home very comfortable. We made good use of the fire on offer and enjoyed peaceful evenings reading and puzzling. We certainly recommend The Farmhouse Wing to...

Lower Church Farmhouse is located in the village of Marksbury, which combines a rural setting with close proximity to the beautiful Georgian spa city and world heritage site, Bath. It's also ideally situated for those visiting Bristol, the Cotswolds and the cathedral city of Wells. Attractions such as Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and Wookey Hole are also within easy travelling distance. Marksbury is 5 miles from Bath, situated on the A39 where it meets the A368. It has an interesting church believed to be late 12th century in origin.

Lower Church Farmhouse is in the centre of the village, close to wonderful country walks. There are several pubs nearby serving great food, and there is a convenient small supermarket and petrol station a short walk away, which sells groceries,...

The Farmhouse Wing is ideally situated for the Park & Ride bus services that run every 15 minutes into Bath and Bristol city centres. It is an easy 10-minute drive to the Newbridge Park & Ride which goes to Bath, and a 15-minute drive to Brislington Park & Ride which goes to Bristol.

The rail station at Keynsham is 4 miles away and has parking. From there you can catch trains to Bath, Bristol and beyond.

Bristol Airport is a very convenient 25-minute drive from The Farmhouse Wing.
