Interaction with guestsThe Stables is next to/ an annexe of our house. We are there if you need us, but otherwise you are left to yourselves to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cottage and surrounding area. We like to be here to hand you the keys, but often this is not possible, so they are left in a key safe, with a unique code for you to access. As the cottage is attached to our house it is inevitable that you may see us around from time to time, but we aim to make your stay as private as possible. If you need suggestions about the area we are happy to help.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Elegant and comfortable
We have stayed here several times, and always find the cottage comfortable, nicely decorated and furnished. It is only a 10 minute drive into central Stratford and only a few minutes from the M40. I would thoroughly recommend it.

The perfect stay 🏡
This place gave us an absolutely perfect weekend! We couldn't have wished for a better stay. The hosts were lovely and very helpful when we asked for assistance, and they kept our stay very private. The hot tub was the best we have ever been in and the speakers provided was a big plus! We've recommended to all our couple friends and will definitely be returning 😁

An idyllic stay
We stayed here for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The location is perfect, opposite Charlecote Park in all its autumnal glory, 10 minutes drive from Stratford and 25 minutes from beautiful Cotswold villages. The Stables itself is one of the most charming places we have ever stayed. Fabulous gardens outside and creative and thoughtful living spaces inside. A really attractive and comfortable place to stay. Rupert and Katriona were ideal hosts, unobtrusive but so friendly and so helpful. We enjoyed every minute and very much look forward to returning.

Lovely cottage and gardens
We have nothing but praise for this cottage and amazing gardens. It was a very relaxing stay to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, Katriona and Rupert were very welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely holiday home to friends and family. We definitely hope to return one day. Thank you for a lovely break.

Beautiful cottage and garden
My husband and myself stayed here for a week. The cottage and garden is just beautiful. The cottage is decorated to a very high standard, it has everything you need plus a full sky sports package, great for football fans. We arrived to a lovely box of biscuits, a welcome card and a vase of fresh flowers, a welcoming touch. The hot tub is amazing, very relaxing. The garden is truly beautiful with different seating areas, we enjoyed sitting by the pond, it's very peaceful. Katriona and Rupert were lovely hosts and were around should we of needed anything. Thank you, we had a very relaxing holiday and we would love to visit again.

Beautiful place
Have you ever seen the photos of the place you were going to stay at, then got there and it looked nothing like the photos. Well this is not the case with this beautiful cottage in a very nice part of the world. In fact, the photos don't do justice for just how nice this place is. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The cottage is very clean and well presented. The hot tub was lovely. We have had such an amazing time and will definitely return. Thank you Katriona and Rupert.

Perfect cottage in a beautiful location
We booked a long weekend away here and it was absolutely everything we wanted and more. The cottage is very tastefully done and has everything you could need for a weekend away, it is absolutely stunning and the hot tub is such a wonderful extra, exactly what you need after a long day of exploring the local area! The location itself is beautiful, so peaceful and quiet but yet so much to do on your doorstep. It is an excellent base to visit nearby Warwick, Leamington Spa and so on. Charlecote park is only a few mins walking distance away and is well worth a visit. The owners are delightful, they ensured the hot tub was at the right temperature for us to use every evening of our stay there. Katriona communicated with us clearly, right from the time of booking, up until our stay there. They allow you to enjoy your time there in private but at the same time are always on hand if you do need them. They also left a very tasty lemon drizzle cake! Will definitely recommend this to everyone else and will return!

Stylish, comfortable and quiet cottage
This was our third visit to this lovely cottage. It is furnished and decorated with good taste, and is very comfortable and quiet, yet handy for Stratford upon Avon and the M40.

Highly recommend
We had a wonderful six night stay at the Stables in late July. From the outset, communication was great and Katriona was very helpful when we needed to amend our original dates. The property is situated in a quiet and quaint hamlet, just a short stroll from Charlecote Park. It overlooks the owners beautiful gardens and is extremely well equipped for short or long stays. There are books galore, dvds to watch (as well as Sky to the delight of my husband) and lots of useful guides to the local area. We really appreciated the little extra touches such as shampoo in the shower room, fresh coffee, milk, tea and even a beautiful lemon cake. Katriona and Rupert were generous and kind hosts. As well as the use of the hot tub, they offered us the use of additional garden areas during the day and even gifted us fresh tomatoes and courgettes which were delicious. There are two pubs with outside seating within short walking distance, plus a National Trust cafe at Charlecote and a small cafe at the garden store along the road. Buses run every half an hour (every hour on sundays) and we enjoyed visits to Leamington in Spa, Stratford and Warwick. If you’re planning a trip to Leamington I’d highly recommend popping in to The Meat Room for locally sourced chicken, pork and beef - their products were amazing! It was wonderful to return to such a beautiful property after the bustle of the larger towns, sink into one of the two cosy sofas and then sleep in a fabulously comfortable bed. We feel very lucky that we spotted the property and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return. Thank you Katriona and Rupert for everything that made our stay so wonderful.

About the neighbourhood
Charlecote is a small village located between Warwick and Stratford Upon Avon. It lies on the edge of Charlecote Park, a Tudor House, with a Capability Brown-designed deer Park now owned by the National Trust. It has been in the Lucy Family for over 700years. Shakespeare is rumoured to have been caught poaching on the estate. There is an historic working mill in the village. The Pheasant Hotel is situated in the village and there are 2 garden centres that are well worth a visit. The nearest amenities( shops, small supermarkets , petrol, pubs) are at Wellesbourne 1 mile away. The area is wonderful for walking and cycling with quiet country lanes to cycle ( routes can be provided by the owners) with walks from the doorstep and further afield in the Cotswolds. There is an abundance of good restaurants and good pubs in the area. Charlecote is only 4 miles from Stratford upon Avon and all it has to offer in terms of culture and eating out. Warwick Arts centre has an excellent theatre and film programme and Birmingham is within easy access if you want a bigger city experience. There are concerts and festivals held in the area notably at Warwick Castle and Ragley Hall.
