About the neighbourhood
Bronte Country of West Yorkshire is surprisingly wild and remote yet is accessible to Manchester and the other major cities of the North for a short break.
The cobbled street leads up to the Parish Church and Parsonage where the Bronte family lived. The cottage which is on this Main Street is a central part of the community of the street which is mainly a street for pedestrians.
The Yorkshire climate can be dramatically climatic but also surprisingly warm and sunny. The surrounding moors and hills provide wonderful views and vistas. The Worth Valley Steam Railway, featured in the Railway Children, with shunting sheds and Victorian Station is a few hundred yards from the cottage.
The street is filled with wonderful cafes, art and craft shops, traditional Yorkshire pubs and curiosity shops....
