We stayed here in August 2016. We loved the location, it's only a 5 min drive away from Caernarfon and close to Llanberis and other local attractions. The property itself was really nice, just what we needed. Everything was nice and clean and comfortable. The park the cottage is on is lovely. If you go for a walk round the...

We stayed here in April for a short break with two young children. The cottage was clean and cosy, it had everything you need for a holiday . high chair was a bonus! The living room has been decorated recently and was really cosy especially with the electric "woodburner" at night. There was a few games and books available to...

This was the worst holiday we have ever been on. In fact, we booked for 2 nights and barely stayed there for longer than 12 hours. We couldn't subject our family to that home for any longer. It was dirty and smelly. When we first entered there was an overpowering smell of bleach, but once that settled down the downstairs...

I am sorry that the hirer had a bad experience when visiting our holiday home in August which I am pleased to say does not represent the feedback we have received from other hirer's both before and after the dates. I have added some later feedback (September) subsequent to this visitor's brief stay below: 'Thanks Phil. Had a great week.Just...

Map
About the neighbourhood
We are just over a mile from Caernarfon which has a reasonable choice of local shops and several large supermarkets with a small local market on Saturdays.

When crossing the swing bridge behind the castle there is an enjoyable coastal walk or if going up the steps on the far side of the bridge this takes you up to a large park with a variety of activities for all ages.

If dining out in Caernarfon a taxi into town costs about £5. Our preferred venues are BLACK BULL (pub/restaurant); OUZO & OLIVE (Greek) or FU's (Chinese). In peak season best to book in advance.
Getting around
There is a bus route which runs past Glan Gwna holiday park.

The nearest mainline station is at Bangor.

For steam train enthusiasts the nearest stations are at Caernarfon and Waunfawr for the Welsh Highland railway.

There is also a lakeside railway at Padarn Lake in Llanberris or for the more adventurous there is the Snowdon Mountain railway which also sets off from Llanberris (in main season pre-booking is essential).
