Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Always dreaming of a return trip!
My sister and I stayed at Frances cottage in 2017(not 2018) and while this review is greatly overdue I feel I must write it! We enjoyed every bit of our stay in Wales, the cottage was perfect. Close to everything yet at the end of the road so not very busy. We felt completely safe and secure. We both often talk of going back because it was so idyllic. We walked everywhere, everywhere! We visited off season so much of the hiking we were by ourselves, again felt very safe. Frances was very accommodating as we booked last minute, there were even breakfast cakes and fresh butter for our first morning there. Her husband stopped by to make sure everything was good, it was excellent! I could go on but to sum it up, just a really great feeling there! Thank you Francis!

A tranquil treat in the heart of nature
We loved our stay here. The house felt both cosy and spacious. We also very much appreciated the lovely fresh flowers in the house on our arrival. We were particularly delighted with the seating areas by the river. We often saw wildlife and especially Cranes while sitting outside. We also very much appreciated the lovely fresh flowers in the house on our arrival The house was very quiet and also very well situated with such a short walk to the waterfalls right by the village. There are lots of great walks directly from the village and also some great places nearby easily accessed by car.

Fabulous short break
After a very stressful few months we chose this cottage for a short break to replenish our batteries. How fabulous we fished. Walked and golfed. Enjoyed great food and a very special cottage better than any prescription. We didn't want to leave. The wildlife was wonderful to watch from the garden. Such a peaceful setting. Top of our list to return thank you Frances for such a wonderful stay and for the lovely welcome pack

Perfect riverside location to explore Snowdonia
First rate accommodation for a family holiday. Kitchen is spacious and contains cooker, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The riverside location is ideal and the house is about two minutes walk from all the shops and eating places in town. Off road parking is provided and no traffic noise at all to disturb even the lightest sleeper. The railway station is about five minutes walk with a branch line running from Llandudno to Ffestiniog. An ideal holiday location if you love the town or if you wish to use it as a base for touring Snowdonia. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Riverside Retreat
We stayed here for a wonderful week in May. The cottage is very well equipped, extremely comfortable andwell located - away from the centre of the village on the edge of the countryside and yet still only a 5 minute walk into the centre. The riverside garden terrace is fantastic - just feet away from the water and sitting with a glass of wine, watching the birdlife was so rlaxing at the end of the day. Will definitely be visiting again.

Excellent stay
Brilliant property cosy & well equipped with all the facilities we needed for our stay which was over the end of 2017 & into 2018. Very near the heart of Betws-y-coed with all of the shops, eateries, & walks. You can leave the car in the drive & walk everywhere. Food in the stables was great. A very dog friendly location with them being allowed in the majority of shops.

About the neighbourhood
Betws-y-coed, in Snowdonia has always been a hive of tourist activity. it is situated on the main London to Holyhead route, the A5. Many of the older hotels had stables for all the horse drawn vehicles that used to pass this way. it is renowned for its central position for touring Snowdonia and all of North Wales. It is very picturesque and there are plenty of eateries without having to travel out of the village.
Getting around
There is a small railway station a 10 minute walk from the cottage. Betws-y-coed does have a network of buses for sightseeing, planning your trips would be advisable though.
