Interaction with guests
We like to meet guests on arrival to introduce them to the facilities of the Lodge and garden. We are able to offer information and guidance on local highlights and amenities. We supply tourist information and sample menus from places we enjoy dining. We are available for interaction with guests during their stay if they so wish. We like to be able to say good bye at the end of a stay and receive feedback.

Stayed in this beautiful cottage in Ballycastle at the end of September 2017. Was warmly greeted by our hosts who had a wealth of knowledge of the area and attractions with maps, leaflets, information, timetables etc. The Lodge is situated in a very quiet part of the country. We had a lovely stay here. Very warm welcome from Ann and Don with much appreciated cream tea on arrival. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We couldn't have asked for a better location -it was the perfect base for exploring the area: everything we wanted to see was within easy...

About the neighbourhood
Ballycastle is a small friendly town with many individual family run businesses from butchers to boutiques and a variety of gastronomic experiences. Traditional music can be heard on Thursday nights and there is modern nightclub music too. The Museum in Castle Street has a wealth of archives and artefacts and there is an interesting and informative guided walk around the town to follow at your leisure. The recorded history of Ballycastle goes as far back as the third century A.D. In the past coal was mined, glass and soap were made in and around the town. There was also a salt works, and iron works and a brewery. Modern day Ballycastle has an attractive sea front with a long sandy beach and large children's play area next to the small marina. The Causeway Rambler is a local hop on hop off bus service along the Causeway Coast. The Rathlin Island Ferry operates a daily service between Ballycastle harbour, next to the yacht marina, and Church Bay on Rathlin Island.

We are equidistant from three airports: Belfast International, Belfast City and Derry City Airport. Guests may arrive by ferry at several points across Ireland eg Cork, Rosslare, Dublin, Belfast and Larne. We provide detailed directions tailored to point of arrival. Ballycastle is not served by a railway. the nearest station is in Coleraine and taxis are available from there. The Lodge is not on a local bus route - taxis are available in Ballycastle. Car hire can be arranged at ports/airports. Parking at the Lodge is off-road in our large garden.
