Tourism NI approved accommodation, The Jays is a modern townhouse in a courtyard setting in the picturesque village of Bryansford. Situated opposite Tollymore Forest Park, close to mountains, lakes, beaches and the seaside town of Newcastle, yet only 45 minutes drive from Belfast.

Our house is well-equipped and comfortably furnished to accommodate families wishing to enjoy the outdoors of the Mourne Mountains, but with all the amenities of a seaside town nearby.

Bed linen and towels are provided (except beach towels) and central heating and electric are included in the cost.

Please note the house has a double bedroom with ensuite downstairs, and a single room and bunk room upstairs beside the main bathroom.

The Jays has everything that you could possibly think of need when you are away from home. Judy leaves fresh flowers, milk and Barnbrack for your arrival. The house is absolutely spotless and is a total joy to stay in. Less than a minute away...More

About the neighbourhood
Newcastle, Castlewellan and the Mourne area generally, lends itself to a host of outdoor activities for all ages, however, with such beautiful scenery to walk or drive through, it can also be a joy to relax in.

Percy French immortalised this area in his song - the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea!

Tollymore Park across the road from us is highly recommended. Children can enjoy rolling down hills , climbing trees, jumping over stepping stones across rivers. There is also a children's play area within the fenced picnic area. Many specimen trees can be found in the arboretum. Those who are interested may also wish to look for Game of Throne locations.

Try not to get lost in the maze in Castlewellan Forest Park - I still need to be guided from the viewpoint!!.
