Auchgoyle Bay Cottage is the perfect base to explore Argyll – the Coast of the Gaels. The cottage is in the small village of Minard, just south of Inveraray and has direct views across the ever-changing panorama of Loch Fyne. There are walks to suit all abilities from the cottage, along the shore, round the village and up into the hills to the deserted Feorlin village or a short walk away at the National Trust gardens at Crarae. The loch shore is 100 metres away, where you can launch small boats and kayaks. Inveraray and Lochgilphead offer a range of facilities including restaurants, shops and other tourist attractions. Please make yourselves at home in the cottage - we want you to feel relaxed and enjoy your stay. Please try to recycle waste in the bins provided as care for the environment is an important part of how we manage the cottage. And finally...changeovers can be quite hectic and if you're able to leave the cottage clean and tidy that would be a great help.

About the neighbourhood
Minard is located in mid-Argyll in the heart of Argyll and Bute, close to Inveraray the home of the Duke of Argyll and the impressive Inveraray Castle. Auchgoyle Bay Cottage is well placed for you to explore the area with Inveraray and Lochgilphead close by. There are several walks in Minard village and Forestry Commission walks a short drive away. There are also forestry tracks accessible for off-road cycling. Inveraray is a picturesque town with the Castle and Jail as the main attraction. You can explore the Castle grounds for free, including the walk up to the Dun na Cuaiche - the distinctive folly on top of the hill that overlooks the town. There are restaurants to suit all tastes in the town. On the way to Inveraray you will pass Auchindrain, a nationally important open air muse...
Getting around
The cottage is located on the main bus route, but a car is normally the best way to see the sights of Argyll.
