The Isle of Seil enjoys the peace and tranquillity of island life but with the advantage of it being easily accessible. One of Argyll’s Slate Islands, Seil is 12 miles south west of Oban, in Argyll, Scotland and is connected to the mainland by the world famous ‘Bridge over the Atlantic’. Seil island benefits from a mild climate washed by the gulf stream. The Firth of Lorne Special Area of Conservation is an area of outstanding natural beauty; of uninhabited islands whose sea-cliffs plunge into clear nutrient rich oceanic waters. Along the shoreline you may also see grey seals, common seals and otters. Sea eagles, golden eagles, buzzards and peregrine falcons can be seen circling above. Getting around
A car is recommended but there is a bus service from Oban. You can get to Oban by train or bus and the ferries to the islands leave from Oban. There are also taxis in Oban which can take you down to the cottage.
