Located in a peaceful cul-de-sac off Kirkcudbright's historic High Street, this modernised cottage offers comfortable accommodation with a sunny patio just a stone's throw from all Kirkcudbright's amenities - shops, art galleries, restaurants, swimming pool, play park.
Very conveniently placed cottage with a short walk to the harbour and shops. Rattra cottage was ideal for the lovely quiet holiday that we wanted, it was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed! We would recommend this holiday home.

We had a family holiday party staying at Rattray Cottage - five of us in total - and the configuration of the cottage suited us down to the ground. It's really close to Kirkcudbright centre, so convenient for a quick nip down to the Co-op...More

Belated thanks for your lovely review - didn´t see it before! So glad that Rattra Cottage´s town centre location provided the ideal base for your family holiday.
Rattra Cottage provides flexible accommodation with a downstairs double bedroom and shower room for those who prefer not to use the stairs. Upstairs there is a twin room with 2 single beds which can be converted into a 6 FT king-size bed if required. In addition there is a bunk-room with 2 full-size bunk beds. The upstairs rooms share the family bathroom.
As well as a sitting-room equipped with TV, DVD and stereo system, there is also a separate sun room with another TV.

Everywhere you turn there is a view worthy of painting and the town has changed little in the past 200 years so retains much of its original charm. Rattra Cottage is in a wonderful location right in the centre of Kirkcudbright within walking distance of shops, restaurants and pubs. In the High Street itself you will find galleries, craftshops, artists studios, a close leading to the marina and riverside views. There is also a 16th century castle just around the corner opposite the harbour. Every year Kirkcudbright hosts a number of events including a jazz festival, a Children's Festiival and an Arts and Crafts Trail Throughout the summer there are regular Historical Walks and Scottish Nights and the season culminates with a spectacular Tattoo.
