A 10 minute walk will bring you to our famous Princes Street and its gardens. Many of the museums, galleries and attractions in Edinburgh city centre and the Royal Mile are also an easy stroll away. We felt so at home in this conveniently located flat; just steps away from the restaurants and shops in Grassmarket and the local Sainsburys. The very comfortable flat is extremely well located being in walking distance to the castle and the city. It is very well appointed and has been renovated. Lynn is a good host with lots of information about edinburgh. All in all it is a great place to stay.

The location is central to Old Town in Edinburgh. The view of the castle is quite dramatic! The apartment was clean and has many amenities for travelers with a washer dryer, and a variety of information about the city. It is on two city tour bus routes plus there were several local coffee shops and cafes within easy walking distance....

About the neighbourhood
The Grassmarket is in the historic centre of Edinburgh and is home to numerous restaurants, cafes, Scottish pubs and boutiques selling antiques, books, cashmere, period clothes and much more. Restaurants in the pedestrianised areas allow for outdoor eating. The area is steeped in history. Notoriously the Grassmarket was the site for public executions, a memory reflected in the naming of the Last Drop pub: the name refers both to drops of drink and to the drop from the gallows. During the summer the place comes alive with street performers, musicians and special events. A quick stroll will take you up to the Royal Mile and the Castle or along to Princes St through its lovely gardens.
Getting around
Edinburgh is a 'walkable' city and best seen on foot.

Two bus routes stop right outside the apartment and numerous other routes are available within 5 minutes walk. The public buses accept only exact change and sell both single tickets and unlimited day tickets.

There are numerous Hop on, Hop off buses which stop near the main sites.

Two bus routes stop right outside the apartment and numerous other routes are available within 5 minutes walk, including the 300 which goes to the airport.

There is free parking in metered bays close to the apartment from 18.30 each night until 08.30 in the morning and from 18.30 on Saturday night through to 08.30 Monday morning. Monday to Saturday you can pay to park in these bays (maximum 4 hours).
