There is an excellent choice of sightseeing possibilities close by - Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile leading from the Palace to the Castle is only a 10 minute walk, as is the Scottish Parliament and the beautiful open spaces of Holyrood Park. Also within walking distance is the stunning viewpoint of Calton Hill where you can get views across the city and up to the Highlands in the north. For the more adventurous there is Arthurs Seat - Edinburgh’s highest hill just a short hike from the apartment. Enjoy! Check in is from 14:00 and check out by 10:00. We provide a 'meet and greet' service, whereby we will meet you at the property to hand over keys, show you the layout, provide local information and answer any questions you may have. You will also be given emergency contact numbers should you have any questions or issues during your stay. A guest information pack will provide you with instructions on the various appliances in addition to tips and suggestions for local shops and where to visit during your stay. Your host is also a tour guide in Scotland and can provide you with information and advice on 1 day tours or longer to sights such as Roslin Chapel, Loch Lomond, whisky distilleries, Loch Ness and the Highlands.

About the neighbourhood
The apartment is located within a traditional tenement in the Easter Road area of the city, a vibrant and distinct locality only 10-15 minutes walk from most of the city sights, which makes it a great base for a visit. There is an excellent range of local amenities and easy access across the city. Within 1-2 minutes of the apartment there is an award winning bakery and patisserie, a delicatessen, several cafes, specialist wine merchant, grocers, local supermarket, several food outlets, pubs and restaurants. The Royal Mile, Palace and Parliament are only 10 minutes walk, as are the stunning viewpoint of Calton Hill and Holyrood Park, both of which are well worth exploring. Also nearby is the Edinburgh Playhouse theatre and Omni Centre .
Getting around
From the apartment, you can walk to the foot of the Royal Mile and up into the Old Town, right through the historic centre and up to the Castle. You can also walk to the city centre in around 15 minutes. If you'd rather travel by bus, there is a stop to both the Royal Mile and the city centre from immediately outside the apartment. There is also good access by bus to the east side of the city such as Leith Waterfront and Portobello beach. The area also benefits from one of the very rare free parking areas in the city so if you travel by car we recommend you leave it parked in the vicinity of the apartment while you explore the city by foot or by bus.
