This is my second stay at the Cooperage; my first in November 2014. When I decided to visit Edinburgh again July 2017 I only had one place in mind. Great place to stay!! Absolutely enjoyed my stay there! Great view, surrounded by great places to eat, weather was great, and the bus stop is only a few feet away!

We stayed here for 3 nights and have to say we had nothing to complain about (maybe a slow filling cistern but that would be nit picking). Located in a unique and quiet waterside location adjacent to the lively Leith Shore and a short walk from Commercial Wharf. The area enjoys a thriving 'Continental' atmosphere and an exciting choice of restaurants, including a Michelin star restaurant opposite and the very best gastropubs in Edinburgh right on the doorstep along with local shops and cafes . The Royal Yacht Britannia is a short walk away, as is the Ocean Terminal Shopping and Leisure Complex with many bars and restaurants having views over the harbour. The 12 mile ' Water of Leith Walkway ' runs from The Shore to Balerno and the Pentland Hills, a designated ' Urban Wildlife Site ' and home to over 80 species of birds and patches of ancient woodland.
Getting around
There is the convenience of the local bus stop only a minutes walk from The Cooperage with the centre of the city and Princes Street shops only 15 Minutes away on a number 22 bus, along with the ' Majestic Hop On Hop Off Tour ' bus leaving from the same bus stop. The number 35 bus leaves from the same bus stop providing a service direct to the airport.

Airport: Edinburgh Airport: 14.0 km
Railway: Waverley Train Station: 3.0 km
From East End of Princes Street proceed to Leith Walk (A900) At the foot of Leith Walk continue ahead into Constitution Street.Turn left into Bernard Street (2nd set of traffic lights) go over the bridge and turn sharp left at 'Giuliano's' follow the road round to the Cooperage.
Cooperage is approx. 9 - 10 miles from the airport, easiest would be by taxi approx 30 min, other options is the number 100 airport bus or the T50 tram to the city centre then a bus from there to the Shore area.There is also a direct bus service Number 35 but that takes far longer as it is a normal service that will stop at most bus stops.
Waverley train station is around 2 miles from The Cooperage and 10 min by taxi or 15 min by bus numbers 22,35 & 36.
