Wonderfully, spacious & central accommodation
This is a great location, walking distance to all things central. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children (aged 9 and 4). As we arrived on a rainy day, and it was a bit of an uphill walk, we did take a taxi from Central Station, however when we left it was an easy walk back to the station to catch our train. The accommodation is large and the staircase very grand. It was wonderful to be able to use the lift to take our suitcases upstairs, though there are steps up to the front door. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We appreciated the welcome supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk. We would definitely stay again.

Perfectly adequate
We booked the 3 bed apartment for a weekend in November. I had visited a friend in the apartment for a short while the year before and thought it looked lovely. The kitchen was reasonably supplied with utensils and beautifully done out. The lounge was lovely but no-one in our party could be bothered to work out the complicated speaker system for the tv. The bedrooms are downstairs . The staircase itself is glass and chrome ..and wobbles like mad! One of the bedrooms has no bedside tables. Another has little or no drawers or hanging space. There is only one full length mirror for 6 people. There is one bathroom with shower and bath AND NOT ONE SINGLE SHELF IN THE WHOLE BATHROOM. The sink bowl was a trendy thing with a tiny rim with no surface for resting anything. There was an area behind the toilet bowl - no use whatsoever if you wanted to grab shampoo 6 feet away. The shower was ok, but of course no shelves. So..everything went on the floor - 6 people's toiletries. There was a shared overflow wardrobe in the area outside the bedrooms. What a palaver. The whole look was substance over practicality. On leaving my husband forgot an expensive shaver. We had to go to a family event and were booked into a hotel for the Sunday night, which was when he discovered it. He returned to Blythswood to retrieve it , glad to see the door code had not yet been changed on the property. I instantly received a telephone call where 'the police' were mentioned several times. They were on the point of 'going round to the property'...bla, bla, bla. The manager/owner was correct to suspect a burglary BUT she knew my husband had left the expensive item and had made no effort to contact us (she had 8 hours). If someone had contacted us this whole scenario could have been avoided. Our fault, but the rule book for this property is laced with threats throughout and not in the least welcoming and friendly. (the'Extra Charges' list is extremely thorough.) One does not feel encouraged to open dialogue with them. There are nicer ways of telling us these things. So, remember this property cost 1000 for TWO nights. One forms an opinion through comparisons. Look up '10 Buchanan Street'. I have been there too and it knocks Blythswood Square apartments into a tin hat - the location for a start. You have to lug your suitcases for 15 minutes uphill from Central Station to get to Blythswood Square apartments which is not as central as you are made believe (or you would have booked a taxi). The price comparison for the 2 properties is unbelievable too. The latter owner was friendly and approachable. He said my friend and her family could book out ANY TIME. He offered to let them have the flat for an extremely reasonable cost for an extra night as there was (unusually) no-one booked for the next day. My friend had booked elsewhere by then for the family event on the Sunday which was announced AFTER we had all booked our Glasgow weekend. As for us,we certainly were not going to stump up another 500 quid a night for Blythswood Square. Can you IMAGINE their management offering such kindnesses for a start?( We paid 70 pounds for a beautiful room in Glasgow Central Hotel.) Buchanan Street is a classier property too. So, in conclusion , a nice-looking place to stay , and overall not a bad experience -but not worth the money.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave Blythswood Square Apartments a review on your recent stay in November. We are delighted to hear you thought the apartment looked lovely in particular the kitchen and living room area. I am however confused at your comments regarding our city centre location in which I sent you your booking confirmation email dated 24th July which included a map of our location and taking into consideration you had visited the apartment the previous year knew of our exact location. Which one would assume if you thought the apartments were too far of a walk you would have organised suitable transport prior to your arrival. Your welcome folder located in the kitchen has extensive information on the apartments including instructions on Page 6 under ‘Sonos Set-Up’ which provides a step by step guide on how to use the speaker system. The staircase itself leading down to the bedrooms is made from solid wood with a chrome handrail which I have had looked at and have to disagree regards your comments that it ‘wobbles like mad’ and is not made from glass and chrome as you have mentioned. I thank you for bringing to my attention the lack of shelving within the family bathroom and this is something that the owner and I will be looking to rectify. All 3 bedrooms have a wall mounted hanging unit with approximately 8-10 coat hangers and a shelf above including a triple wardrobe in the hall area outside of the bedrooms with extra hanging space and several drawers included within. There is also a good sized cupboard underneath the stairs again for extra storage and one large cupboard in the entrance hall for luggage etc. For a family of 6 guests staying only 2 nights with a rucksack/small hand luggage case each I fail to see how storage of your belongings could become such a palaver! I would certainly have to disagree with your comments in regards to the ‘rule book’ being ‘laced with threats’ and ‘extra charges’. The policies we have in place for our apartments ask our guests that the apartment is left in the same state that they found it with no excess mess and/or damage or they may risk losing some or all of there security deposit, we kindly ask guests to check out for 11am or a late check out fee may be applied unless a later check out has been previously agreed and No Parties. These are simple requests which are applied by the biggest majority of serviced apartments. From your time of booking in July until your arrival in November we had several email correspondence. Had you mentioned you were staying an extra night I would have been able to inform you that our rates were considerably lower on weekdays i.e. Sunday through to Thursday which would have worked out at just under £50pppn based on 6 guests sharing. I would not class this as unreasonably priced. Clearly I have annoyed you that you were challenged about re-entering the property 8 hours after your stay was over to retrieve items you had left. We take security of our guests and the apartments very seriously. As I explained at the time if you had contacted me it would have been a lot more courteous of you, caused less alarm and the whole scenario could have been easily avoided. Just to confirm I sent you a message around 9am on the Monday morning informing you that you were more than welcome to pop back to the apartments to collect your ‘expensive shaver’ which had been locked securely away by our cleaning company for me to deal with on my return to work on the Monday morning. Once again we do thank you for your review and on behalf of all the Blythswood Square Apartments Team we wish you and your family all the very best for 2019.

Excellent stay
I stayed here with a big group of friends, and love the place. We had a weekend planned going to a concert then had a few folk round for a party. Everything was nice and clean, and the location was handy! Would highly recommend staying there and hope we stay there again sometime next time we are in Glasgow.

What a lovely apartment.
We booked this apartment at short notice after a previous booking of another apartment was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. The apartment is excellent. It is very spacious with four large double bedrooms, one on suit. A further full bathroom and a large toilet /washroom made it excellent for our party of two couples and two single friends. The kitchen was well equipped although we only had breakfasts at the apartment. There are several excellent restaurants nearby so we decided not to cook. The sitting area was very comfortable with three good sized sofas. A dining alcove had seating for eight. Off the landing at the top of the stairs from the ground floor was a laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier. The apartment is situated on the first and second floors of this classic Glasgow townhouse. There is a private lift from the ground floor to both floors of the apartment. This makes it suitable for anyone who would have problems climbing the long staircases. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to any one visiting the lovely city of Glasgow.

Beautiful
I didnt get this accommodation as some repairs were being carried out but we were upgraded to the 4 bedroom also being leased by Peter S (https://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentalReview-g186534-d10237736-Luxury_4_Bedroom_Apartment_in_City_Centre_Location-Glasgow_Scotland.html) I believe this accommodation is directly below the 4 bedroom. The accommodation was beautiful, big, clean, furnished, very close to the city centre - shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets. Easy to find by taxis. Our hosts were easily contactable, making the entire experience worthwhile. Free wifi, comfortable beds, with good views, about 10 mins or less walk to the city centre.
