Ideally located & perfect for our needs. Clean, comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen & a brilliant hostess. Communication was excellent. We are regular visitors to Aviemore and we now hope to be regulars at Stone Cottage, cannot fault it.

About the neighbourhood
Aviemore is in the Cairngorm National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. There is a lot to see and do around Aviemore including the following: Cairngorm mountain and Rothiemurchas Estate: The RSPB hide at Boat of Garten: The Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig (new polar bear cub in 2018): Landmark Adventure Park at Carrbridge. Aviemore is also a good spot to base yourself as the Whisky trail, Castle trail are only a couple of things to see within a couple of hours drive. Inverness is only 30 miles away with the dolphins in the Moray Firth and Fort George on the coast well worth seeing.....and of course you may even be lucky enough to see Nessie on Loch Ness!!
Getting around
There is a local bus service in the area and a steam train runs most days between Aviemore and The Boat of Garten. Bike hire is also available and there is a local taxi service. National train service stops in Aviemore and Inverness is the nearest airport. There is a bus from the airport to the bus station in Inverness ( which is located close to the railway station) or cars can be hired at the airport.
