Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Loved it.
Lovely house in a great location. We loved going to hear the bats at night with the bat detector. The house was clean and warm and very spacious.

A great house with fantastic views of the Castle, and everything you need !
We were a group of 7 people and 3 dogs with 3 cars, and had more than enough space for a very comfortable long Easter weekend. The house has lots of character, is well decorated, and is bright and warm, We had everything we needed in terms of facilities, including a well equipped kitchen with a large table, along with a well maintained secure garden for the dogs to run free. The house is well located to visit Elgin, Lossiemouth, Inverness and Loch Ness. We had a wonderful weekend and look forward to visiting again.

Fantastic house, in a super location. The perfect family holiday.
We had a lovely stay at Duffus Farmhouse. A fantastic house with everything we needed. A super garden, perfectly equipped for sitting out and enjoying the views of the castle. Kids really enjoyed playing out there too. Lots of lovely highland soap hand sanitiser and soaps placed around the property which was so appreciated. So much to do in the area, and lots of lovely places to eat. We could have stayed for weeks. Well worth a visit. Lovely house, run by super hosts! Highly recommended.

Wonderful setting, location and farmhouse
We have just had a wonderful week staying at the Old Duffus farmhouse. The location next to Duffus Castle is amazing. The house is extremely well equipped, spacious and comfortable. We spent the week trekking along sections of the stunning Moray Coastal paths, enjoying the beaches and watching dolphins off the coast.....10/10.

Beautiful farmhouse with the most amazing setting
Second time back to this beautiful area & we were not disappointed...we adore this house & it’s surroundings. The house is extremely well catered for and incredibly comfortable. Nothing is missed with all of the finishing touches...It’s just fabulous!! The view is second to none and it’s such a peaceful environment. (Apart from the Typhoons flying over the house, coming from the airbase...we LOVED this too) We brought our dogs & they love it here, the castle ruins is a great place to walk, it’s very interesting for them and also us humans. 😁 We could not recommend this house enough. Caroline is the perfect host & we are so grateful to have spent another amazing week, in this idyllic setting. 5 stars from us, we will definitely be back again one day 😁

Homely
The farmhouse was very clean, warm and welcoming when we first arrived. As we explored the rooms we realised how spacious it was and with everything we needed for our stay. The view of the castle from the front windows was fantastic. Thank you Caroline.

Superb home from home
This holiday let is superbly well equipped. I couldn’t fault the facilities and the folder with local info was clearly marked and well informed. We had a great week and the secure garden was a big plus with the kids. If you have a smaller dog or one that likes to jump then you may need to take a long lead with you. [my little dog is too silly to realise she could have got under the gate!] but aside from that nothing to fault the property on.

2 family holiday with lots of “wow” factors
Our two families of 4 adults and 4 girls (aged 8 to 12) had a wonderful and relaxed stay. One family from London and second family from Edmonton, Canada. There was a “wow!” shout when the girls entered the farmhouse. The rooms are decorated tastefully with original fittings. But the two upstairs bedrooms with vintage styled beds and decor are fantastic. The girls also had their own snug where they decamped when the storms came. The stand out factor is the view of Duffus castle from the front view rooms. The kitchen was our haven. We dined well especially with large and long breakfasts. This made for excellent family time that we don’t usually get in our busy lives. The farmhouse has a large garden and big enough for games for the kids. There is an outdoor dining area at the front. The location is great for beast adventures. We spent every night with walks around the castle exploring the creatures in the moat (frogs, newts, toads). The estate provide a bat hunting kit for night time hunts in the woodlands and farm buildings. We had daily fiend watches for the deer that were frequently running past. The farmhouse is on the landing path of RAF Lossiemouth and guests should expect planes nearby. But this just added more “wow” moments as we watched the new Typhoons rapidly disappear into the clouds and we had the fortune to see the Silver Spitfire fly over the farmhouse. Thanks you to Caroline for your support and helping our families have long lasting memories of an excellent holiday.
