Amazing house in an a beautiful location. The weather was mixed, hailstones one minute and sun the next but that meant rainbows and a quality of light that I have never seen before.
Harris beaches are as beautiful as described, we had a great week. Make sure you stock up on groceries as no corner shops.. really please I did.
The house really made it and I can see why it’s booked up, can’t recommend it highly enough and also got in a couple of hours early which was so appreciated and gave me precious time to settle in.

Cosy cottage and good base for Lewis and Harris
Lovely cottage, well appointed, comprehensively equipped, and convenient for getting around Lewis and Harris. Hosepipe for washing down a grubby dog particularly welcome.

Peaceful stay, excellent location.
I had a fantastic holiday staying at Tigh na Phoirt Deas. The house was so spacious, clean and very well thought out, it had everything I needed and more. It is extremely well placed to visit Harris and Lewis, it felt close to everything yet miles away from it all. Thank you for a very special week.

Beautiful cottage
Fabulous cottage and a beautiful spot on the loch. Ideally located for travelling to Harris or Lewis very easily. Cottage was modern & very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday away from it all with the added bonus that it accepted dogs too. Lovely little touches from the owner like chocolates, wine & some basics in the fridge were a welcomed surprise after a long journey to get there. I would highly recommend & would definitely stay there again on our next visit to the Outer Hebrides. Thank you.

Well appointed property
Stunning location, well appointed property, ideal for travelling around and relaxing in the evening, my husband fished most days catching trout in the loch. Eagles flying over regularly and good access to walking trails.

Beautiful and peaceful
I agree with the other reviews, beautiful property, warm and cosy, spotlessly clean, lovely bedrooms with fabulous views upstairs, and the swing seat on the decking is a bonus, so tranquil to sit gazing over the Loch. Fishing was great - rods supplied. The location is ideal and central for visiting the rest of the island. Total bonus was we saw the Aurora Borealis from the decking - made the week very special.

Holiday review
Enjoyed a superb week in this comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful setting by the loch. Every cottage should have a swing seat - ideal for quietly watching the wildlife!
Will certainly be back.

Stunning cottage and location
We have just spent a week in this beautiful cottage. The photos do not do it justice!
We were a party of 4 adults, 2 dogs and one baby. We deliberately chose the location for ease of visiting both Harris and Lewis as its pretty central. This is our fourth visit to the island and this cottage is the best we have stayed in.
The cottage was very comfortable and kitted out with everything we would need. On arrival we were greeted with a lovely welcome pack and the cottage was toasty and warm.
The cottage has been updated since we booked and the spiral staircase mentioned in previous reviews has been replaced with a standard staircase. The bedrooms upstairs in particular are gorgeous.
The whole place is very quiet and the situation beside the loch made for a very special location.
The decking with its swing and picnic bench were a great place to sit and relax. My husband spent evenings and mornings fishing for brown trout, they gave him the run around and unfortunately outsmarted him!
The owners were very responsive when we had a minor issue and came out the same day to fix it.
We would love to return and would totally recommend the cottage to anyone visiting the island.

Lovely cottage
Spent a week at this lovely cottage...three adults and three children. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. A real home from home. The location at the loch edge is outstanding and we enjoyed fishing and just taking in the view. It's located by the main road between Stornoway and Tarbert giving easy access to all parts of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again if visiting the Hebrides.

Perfect home from home for the family
Really enjoyed our week staying in the cottage. The location is 10/10.
We found the house fully equipped with everything needed for our stay. Comfortable, warm, welcoming, and the view is just superb.
The location is the perfect place in Lewis to be based to explore the island and the local shop is a short drive ( 10min) is well stocked with lots of essentials.
Our favourite time was sitting on the porch swing in the evening peacefully watching the trout jump out the loch for their dinner while the neighbourhood Robin sang us a song.
Good phone and internet reception ( for the young ones)
The only fault I could say is for some people the spiral stairs could be difficult to climb.
My husband, my dog and I can’t wait to return to relax and enjoy sitting by the log fire & taking in the perfect view.
