A perfect location for our family holiday in Ireland. A truly enchanting castle, refurbished and retaining original character whilst having enough modernity to be comfortable .
We traveled with our four children, ages from six to twenty, and for different reasons all loved the stay. We also had our 2 dogs with us who got plenty of exercise running up and down the 56 steps. Our host was extremely welcoming, telling us of the history of the castle and it's renovation, as well as helping with ideas for local areas to visit.
If you're looking for a 5* hotel with a Michelin starred restaurant , this isn't it. But if you want a unique experience in a rustic and authentic 16th century castle, with dinner served in front of a roaring log fire, wonderful as a base for exploring Southern Ireland, this is perfect,
