Holiday Rental House
This modern home with a traditional country feel, is overlooking Clew Bay in County Mayo in a secluded spot 1/4 of a mile off the main Louisburgh/Westport rd. It is at the foot of Croagh Patrick and overlooking Old Head's blue flag beach. The property boasts stunning 360 degree vistas. An ideal setting for a quiet short break, family holiday with children of any age or an activity centred stay. The house is the second last on the lane so is very private. Local activities in the area include cliff side angling in Kilsallagh, deep sea fishing on Clew bay, surfing at Carrownisky beach, hillwalking on the many mountains in the surrounding area, horse riding in murrisk , and is 14 km from the well known Delphi Adventure Centre and Lodge. At the quay in Westport is Westport Country House Estate where there are various fun rides and the house to view, set in the beautiful grounds of the house. This property consists of a porch, entrance hall, large sitting room, large kitchen/dining area, large sunroom, family bathroom/wet room with electric shower, double ensuite bedroom and a second bedroom with bunk beds(single over double) and a single bed on the ground floor. Upstairs is a third bedroom with an en suite (WC) and landing over looking the sitting room with 2 day beds. This house has solar panels, immersion, solid/multi fuel stove to provide hot water and heat. There is an electric shower in the main bathroom, a mains shower in the downstairs en suite and a bath in the upstairs en suite. We are five minutes from the village of Murrisk where the annual pilgrimage of Croagh Patrick goes from every July. In the same village is the monument of the famine ship in commemoration of all those who died. County Mayo boast many characterful villages to visit, and there are also various lively towns such as Castlebar and Ballina. There are many places to eat in Louisburgh and Wesport. The best two restaurants for your evening meals are the The Tavern bar and restaurant in murrisk and The Country Kitchen in Louisburgh. There are many good places for 'Pub lunches' the best being The Helm at the Quay, Westport, The Tavern in Murrisk and The Derrylahan in Louisburgh. It's a new build house (3 yrs old) which is very warm and cosy due to a very high standard of insulation. There are solar panels on the house which supply ample hot water unless there is complete cloud cover. There is an immersion also and the heating is supplied by a large multi/solid fuel stove located in the sitting room. More

About the neighbourhood
Few Irish towns can match Westport's charisma and continental flavour. Within a gracious planned Georgian town centre, cheerful, multi-coloured shop fronts vie for attention with an attractive array of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants - little wonder it has become one of Ireland's most popular and cosmopolitan holiday destinations. Westport nestles in the south east shore of Clew Bay under the watchful eye of Croagh Patrick and the chapel at its peak. Within a 45 minute drive of the town itself, the greater Clew Bay area, from Achill Island in the north to Louisburgh on the southern shore, offers breath-taking views, a myriad of activities and the perfect chance to just get away from it all. So what are you waiting for? If the great outdoors is calling The Great Western Greenway, a...
