Little Duck Cottage is a semi-detached house in the quiet village of Burniston within a few minutes walk of a local shop, two pubs serving good food and a new gym and rugby club. Excellent walking country - Scarborough to Whitby cinder track and Cleveland Way close by. Two and a half miles to the beaches and attractions of Scarborough, on the edge of the North York Moors and a short drive north to Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay, south to Filey and Bridlington, or inland to Pickering, Dalby Forest (Go Ape), Castle Howard and York.

This cottage is just outside Scarborough in a village with two decent pubs and within a few minutes of excellent restaurants. It is clean, modern and extremely comfortable. Sue was kind enough to let us check in early so we could rush off to the...More

About the neighbourhood
The town of Scarborough was the first English seaside resort. It has a beautiful setting, with two golden beaches, each having a different character, separated by the castle headland. The North Bay, the quieter of the two, has the Sea Life centre, the delightful miniature railway, and a pedestrian promenade backed by colourful beach chalets, which can be hired by the day or the week. Close by is Peasholm Park and boating lake, complete with bandstand, and crazy golf, Northstead Manor Gardens, open air theatre and the indoor swimming pool.At the other end of the Marine Drive, the South Bay is the more traditional foreshore, with amusement arcades, fish and chip shops, and the famous Harbour Bar ice cream parlour with original 1950s decor and award-winning dairy ice cream. How to get there
Take the main road A64 from York, then take the A171 Scarborough to Whitby Road. Continue on the A171 through Scalby, and just after you leave Scalby you will see the new Rugby Club on the right hand side of the road. Continue past open fields and find Burniston Gardens the next street on the right hand side, with Little Duck Cottage, number 2, immediately on the right after you turn in.
