About the neighbourhood
Tewkesbury is one of Gloucestershire’s oldest and most historic market towns standing at the confluence of the River Severn and River Avon.

Since before Norman times Tewkesbury has been an important town with its ancient Abbey, the timber clad Tudor houses and the unique alleyways.

It was the site of one of the most historic battles in the War of the Roses. In later years it became a Regency merchant town and has always been an important cross road.

Medieval Market Town offers something for everyone - with so many things to see and do in and around the town.

Take a riverside stroll along the River Severn or a boat trip along the Avon.
Marvel at the 12th Century ceiling in Tewkesbury Abbey then discover Tewkesbury's famous network of alleyways and medieval old town.
