The entrance to this 24sq.mt apartment, with a 12sq.mt mezzanine area, opens up directly into the kitchen area, which presents high ceilings with its double volume. The kitchen is fitted with a counter with work space, burners and sink, making an L-shape from the main wall facing the entrance and to the right of it, whilst to one side a large refrigerator and more cabinets and cupboards complete the kitchen units. Above the kitchen a banister clearly marks the mezzanine area, not accessible from this part of the house. Beyond the kitchen is the actual day area, with lower single volume ceiling, offering a cosy atmosphere complete with a foldable wooden table with two “Ghost” chairs – signature pieces designed by Stark – and two stools, ideal for a lunch in 4, a wooden side-board, a charmin...The entrance to this 24sq.mt apartment, with a 12sq.mt mezzanine area, opens up directly into the kitchen area, which presents high ceilings with its double volume. Beyond the kitchen is the actual day area, with lower single volume ceiling, offering a cosy atmosphere complete with a foldable wooden table with two “Ghost” chairs – signature pieces designed by Stark – and two stools, ideal for a lunch in 4, a wooden side-board, a charming fire place and a double sofa bed (160cm wide). A lovely 18th century window allows for plenty of natural sunlight to brighten the environment, with its immense glass panels. The mezzanine level, with an average height of 160cm, offers a charming area with a double bed (140cm wide), a small chest, and a large closet. A curtain separates the sleeping area from the kitchen below. The bathroom, with its light hued tiles, is towards the entrance by the kitchen, and fitted with a stall shower, wash basin and toilet. The apartment is located in the 3ème arrondissement, in the lively district of the Pompidou Centre, known as Beaubourg. To the north of the Pompidou Centre, numerous commercial art galleries and the odd bookshop and ‘Salon de thé’ occupy the attractive ‘hôtels particuliers’ (noble palaces) of the narrow, pedestrian rue Quincampoix; halfway down the street - on the right - is the delightful, cobbled passage Molière, with its quirky shops. South of the Pompidou Centre, rue Renard runs down to the Hôtel de Ville, the seat of the city's government and a mansion of gargantuan proportions in florid neo-Renaissance style, modelled pretty much on the previous building burned down in the Commune. An illustrated history of this edifice, always a prime target in riots and revolutions, is displayed along the platform of M° Châtelet on the Neuilly Vincennes line. Within very easy walking distance is also the Musée de l’Histoire de France - a museum of French history managed by the State Archive - and the Picasso Museum, housed into the prestigious Hotel Salé, built between 1656 and 1659 and reckoned as one of the most famous of the Marais district. At less than 15 minutes on foot is the modern Les Halles district: it is a big urban renewal project comprising the underground shopping mall ‘Forum’ with restaurants, shops and cinema, and a railway/subway station, which has become the biggest and most trafficated underground station in the world. The project also comprises gardens and pedestrian tree-lined streets. Some of the services in the area: shops, banks, restautaurants, a Carrefour supermarket at approx. 300 meters and a Picard supermarket. Public transports The closest subway stops are Arts et Métiers (lines 3,11), Rambuteau (line 11) and Etienne Marcel (line 4). Parking The closest parking is the ‘Park Alizées Temple’ within 110 metres, at 132 rue de Temple. Additional amenities: Full Kitchen, SofabedMore
