This winegrowers house has many character features and is steeped in french tradition. Situated on the edge of a circulade village (the village winds around and up to a peak- the church) it has all the amenities necessary. The house has many original features - log fire, original shutters and floorboards, decorated with traditional french furniture and original fireplaces in 2 of the bedrooms.There are 3 double bedrooms with traditional french beds and furniture, one of the bedrooms has an additional brass single bed and a cot. We really enjoyed our stay in this charming house. The view of the mountains from the courtyard terrace is quite amazing. The kitchen was well equipped, both showers worked well and the house is adequately furnished. The owners responded quickly to questions and our deposit was returned on time. Rural setting, the views were beautiful. It was very easy to follow Mairead's directions from the airport. The house sat on a substantial plot. It was however, we thought, underdeveloped. The month of July is the festival the pinnacle being on Bastille Day 4th July with an amazing fireworks display in the eveving from La Cite. Throughout the month there are concerts and open air music bands, dance and theatre with some world famous artists appearing, so book well in advance. The wine festival is on during October with lots of festivities music stalls fountains with 'red ' water flowing to signify the the end of the harvest of the grape great time to be in town.
