The origins of this lovely townhouse date from many centuries ago, one of the walls is that of the Roman Emperor, August. The house was completely renovated when purchased and in 2017. Decorated with an eye to charm and authenticity using Provencal colors, antiques, art and modern amenities. Also, on this floor is a comfortable queen sized sofa bed plus a small bathroom with shower in the alcove. The full modern American style kitchen has just been installed in what was the cellar with its vaulted ceiling. A true delight for those you love to cook or hire a chef and he'll do the cooking for you (we can recommend a few in the area). From the entry level, stone steps lead upstairs to the second and third floors with two master bedrooms which have comfortable hard wood floors. Each has a queen bed, large windows, and open bath area with new, large claw-foot bathtubs, sink and separate, enclosed toilet. From these windows there is a striking view of the arena across. Both bedrooms have exposed beams, stone walls, and elegant Signoria & Jalla bed linens. There is air conditioning throughout which makes this house especially pleasant in summer months. Vivian was very helpful and responded to our e mails promptly. A beautifully presented house although we did feel that it wouldn't be suitable for everyone, possibly too stylish to be totally functional. Particularly for families with very young children or elderly holidaymakers the stone...More

We stayed in Arles for one week and couldn't be happier with our decision to stay at Vivian's apartment. The location is perfect and the apartment is so nicely done that it was a pleasure to come back to after a day touring around Provence....More

Large comfortable California Queen Sized Beds. Close up views of significant historical sites right outside the door. Arles is a beautiful city with its historically important Roman Amphitheater. Year-round cutural, musical, historical events. Fun for the entire family. Rhone River tour boats within a 5 minute walk. Free private 1 car exterior parking in front of our garage near the Arles train station, approximately 10 minute walk from the front door. Beaches within a 30 minute drive or bus ride.

About the neighbourhood
Located in the city's historical district directly across from the Roman Arena, it's a great location. Walk to everything yet enjoy the peace and quiet of the area in the mornings and evenings. Food & Wine Markets along with great culinary experience, one of the most famous restaurants in Provence is located in the Bouches-du-Rhône. The Oustau de Baumaniare at the foot of Les Baux and in many of the little villages all around offer an excellent selection of restaurants to chose from. This area also has some very well known wines. Just below Les Baux are several famous vineyards to visit. And this area is famous for its olives. Cold pressed olive oil is a speciality locally. Getting around
A car is not necessary in Arles, everything is either within walking distance or accessible by local buses. Must see villages, such as, Les Baux de Proven e and St. Remy can also be reached by bus, although service is limited on the weekends. Train service to some surrounding cities is another form of transportation.
