The apartment is part of a beautiful old villa, on a quiet street lined with old olive trees, where cicadas love to sing in summer.

The neighbourhood itself is directly adjacent to downtown Antibes, which means that everything is within easy walking distance: the old town (Vieil Antibes), the Marché Provençal, the Picasso Museum, the harbour, various beaches, all of the restaurants and shops and supermarkets and bakeries... The train and bus stations are also easily reached on foot. And although it's conveniently located, it is a quiet residential neighbourhood, where you can sleep in summer with open windows.

Interaction with guests
As guests are renting the entire flat, interaction will be low-key, just at arrival and departure for key hand over and inventory. This will be done by a dear friend of ours who lives in Antibes and can be reached at any time in case of questions or if anything is amiss. We have lived in Antibes since 2006, and the apartment has been our family home since 2010. We sadly had to relocate for work, which is why we decided to offer the flat for rent. That being said, we know Antibes and the local area very well and have prepared for our guests a book and online document containing our tips for the best places to eat and favourite things to do.

About the neighbourhood
The apartment is located just outside of downtown Antibes - it's about ten minutes from Place de Gaulle on foot, where there are two supermarkets (Monoprix and Intermarché). There are a number of bakeries that are even closer, as well as minimarkets.

Antibes itself is a lovely place - the old town with its ramparts, the port, the beaches, the Cap d'Antibes and the amazing views on the Alps.

Surrounding Antibes, the French Riviera has its various charms and tourist traps (Nice, Cannes, Monaco, St Paul de Vence), and about 45 minutes east is the Italian border with Liguria. Further west of Antibes lies the Massif de l'Ésterel, with its red rocks and hiking trails, and then St Tropez, Cassis, Marseille. There's a lot to explore!
Getting around
Public transit: several bus stops (Envibus) are nearby, and the train station (SNCF Gare d'Antibes) is about 10 minutes on foot. We almost always walk to town, parking in the centre ville is challenging (almost impossible in summer) and the old town of Antibes (Vieil Antibes) is a maze of pedestrianized and one-way streets (charming but very complicated for driving!).

Nice Côte d'Azur airport is about 25 minutes by car, and can also be reached by train and bus. We personally prefer the airport express bus (TAM 250), it stops at both terminals of the airport and the closest stop to the apartment is 'SNCF Passerelle'. Tickets are €11 one way and €16 return, and the bus is a large touring-type with a cargo hold in the bottom for luggage, so suitcases, strollers etc are no problem. I unfortunately cannot post the link to the schedule because Holiday Lettings/Trip Advisor blocks all website links, but if you search for 'cg06 250 nice aeroport vallauris pdf' you will find the schedule for the Lignes d'Azur 250 Express.
